Oprah Winfrey Network - OWN

Updated on October 3, 2010

Oprah Winfrey, one of television’s most successful celebrities, is at it again. So what does a woman with a net worth of $2.3 billion and an average salary of $315 million do next? For most people that salary, not to mention the fact that she’s been on television for almost 25 years, alone would be enough and they would have retired by now, but not Oprah. She has decided to start her very own television network, titled the Oprah Winfrey Network or “OWN”.

The Oprah Winfrey Network television network will be focused on a self-help theme, showing you how to be your best and have a positive impact on the world. If you love Oprah, then I’m sure you will love to see her 24/7 on her OWN network. The network will take over the current Discovery Health channel, so if you already have this channel then there is nothing more to do. If you do not, however, you can contact your local cable/satellite company to get the channel.

The network will begin airing on January of 2011. What happens if you cannot wait until then and you need more Oprah ASAP? You can sign up on the Oprah Winfrey Network page for updates and to get sneak peeks of what the network will be offering.

I actually like Oprah Winfrey. Her new channel is out of my reach though.

Not a fan of Oprah W. at all, but I have to admit she has done well if we are looking at dollars and cents, but if we look at Sense and morals I have to stop and wonder what she has done to get to her perch of such a large sum of finances that may be more than a small country and it's citizens. Those given much will be expected much in return. She may be a dedicated person who helps many folks along, I just haven't heard that part due to the media reporting on doom and gloom because the public at large reads the bad news over any good news that comes their way. I'm not throwing stones here as I often find my self drawn to the grave yard column before the nice and cute news, myself. What is it that draws us to disaster before the kind news? I wonder if it is genetic or trained thought from the television box? I truly don't know, 50
