TikaMichelle Is a Sister In Prayer
Talk Show Host Creator and Business Woman
There is a TV show out of South Carolina that is worthy of reading about called, S.I.P., a Christian and inspirational themed talk show that means, Sisters In Prayer.
TikaMichelle is the creator of a great new television network called, OurPages, OurViews and the host of a new talk show called, S.I.P. a show with an inspirational theme.
Show creator, TikaMichelle, acknowledges that S.I.P. is not unlike the major network shows, 'The View', 'The Talk', and the 'The Real', but draws the distinction that her talk show serves as a source of God's illumination for families in these busy times where the future sometimes seems uncertain for many in an ever shrinking middle class that is struggling to keep it altogether.
"Our motto is to encourage, inspire, and motivate men, women, children...families!". A vision from God TikaMichelle feels is a necessity in this media driven world of gossip, negative news reports, and 'shock' reality shows.
TikaMichelle is a wife and mother of 4 (2 boys and 2 girls), and knows all too well the everyday challenges of maintaining a family unit. She graduated cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University in 2000 with a major in Romance Languages (Spanish), and minor in French. She was the President of the school's French club, and a Aggie Essence Dance Team member.
After graduating, Tika taught Spanish in Charlotte, North Carolina for 8 years. She then went to work in Corporate America for 2 years where she would meet her husband, Charles Griffin.
She decided to work with Charles in his business providing therapeutic services in the mental health/behavioral health field. While the couple did a good work for people who suffer with mental health issues, she did not feel this was the path for her. She knew there was something else God was calling her to do, but she just didn't know what it was. Well, she loved fashion all of her life, and decided to open a clothing boutique in December of 2014.
"I prayed and asked God to help me get past my fear and insecurities so that I could move forward with His will for my life, but was that His will for me, to own a fashion boutique?"
The boutique was not the answer God was calling her to, so she decided to close the store a year later, and applied for a 501 (C)3 non-profit and was approved in less than a month. This was just the beginning of what would become the answer she was seeking.
Transformation Services, Inc. which is an umbrella company that houses services for job skills training; Case Management services; Image Consulting Vision/Business Consulting; and the development of the OurPages, OurViews (OPOV) Network an inspirational online media network that launched her very first television talk show, S.I.P.
This felt right for the first time because Transformation Services, Inc. provides training and job placement services to the community as a whole by finding out what the needs are for business owners and citizens to be able to better compete in a global economy that has changed with new technologies and good governance practices over the last 20 years.
Transformation Services enables people to maintain jobs, or transition jobs through training, and allow businesses to remain competitive.
Transformation Services allowed TikaMichelle to branch out and start the OurPages, OurVoices Network utilizing a visual medium of what the company is accomplishing in the community. A visual tool of how successful business people and companies are going about transforming and retraining to stay in step with the changing trends of business practices.
It also allowed TikaMichelle to create a show that veers away from the many 'trash' talking, gossip laden shows that revel in rude and bad behavior. Sisters In Prayer, or S.I.P., was born as an alternative for those seeking inspirational talk shows, and also gave her the opportunity to reinstitute some of her love for fashion, fun, and life fulfilling subject matters for families.
"My heart's desire is to enrich communities by inspiring people, giving them hope, motivating and encouraging them to have goals, and to prosper", says TikaMichelle.
Her show, the OurPages, OurVoices Network, and Transformation Services, Inc. are doing just that.
OPOV Network and S.I.P.
The OurPages, OurVoices (OPOV) Network started in 2015 with Tika's mission of always motivating and encouraging people in their lives.
The first show on the OPOV Network is called S.I.P., Sisters In Prayer, and the show discusses day to day issues and situations that God has brought people through.
"The show is fun, loving, uplifting, modern, and all around good!" says Tika. "It will make you sing, laugh, and cry! So be on the lookout for even more positive entertainment that you can use & that is safe for your children and teens to watch too."
Tika Michelle is seeking national distribution for the show that she says is a show that families can watch together.
Q&A with Tika Michelle
Q: Tika, knowing that your work with Transformation Services, Inc. is to provide job skills training and job services for the community, what led you to do the television network OurPages, OurViews?
A: Great question Robert! Really there are 2 parts to this answer. First OPOV started off as a vision for a magazine called Our Pages, which grew into a bigger vision for a TV Network offering encouraging, inspiring and motivating media content for all ages. Second, while training people to help with providing job-skills for the current technology driven/paperless job market, I noticed that there aren't many entry-level jobs that are available to meet the need of someone that's looking for a sustainable and better job. I realized that many small business owners had a need for help with advertising and marketing so that they could increase sales and visibility and in return have a need to employ workers. Now that OPOV Network is here we not only help with building the job-skills of the individual, we are now able to consult with the small business owner to assess their needs and offer advertising and marketing to them through the Network.
Q: How did you decide on your lovely ladies as co-hosts, and how much of an influence was The Real and shows like that, in creating S.I.P. (Sisters In Prayer)?
A: Honestly, it didn't take much thought because before they were co-hosts of S.I.P. they were my sisters. You have to watch the first episode of S.I.P. to understand the bond that we have with on another and our families too. The Real talk show and of course Oprah Winfrey talk show had influence on us because of how they are able to be so relaxed and open in conversation about topics that are important to them and that's what we adopted from talk shows like those, just being genuine about our walk with Christ and the daily struggles we have.
Q: Describe your co-hosts. like who is the funny one on the group, who is the serous one, etc.?
A: OMG, I'd definitely say that... I'm more the "Visionary-Serious" one of the crew Renee is DEFINITELY the jokester! BJ is the lively, tell all, fun girl!Carlie is the nurturing mother figure!
Q: What is your goal with the OPOV Network? Where would you like to see the Network five years from now?
A: In five years from now I'd like to see the Network with a full production of shows from cartoons to teen-summit type shows and inspirational family movies that are touching on various topics that are affecting our households and communities. I'd also like to see OPOV Network having it's own channel through Comcast, TimeWarner, DirectTV, DISH Network and any other cable/satellite company.
Q: What has been the biggest challenge with doing the S.I.P. show, and what has been your biggest joy with doing the S.I.P. show?
A: My biggest challenge has been scheduling a constant day and time to record and my biggest joy has been reading and hearing the positive comments on how the show has helped someone and seeing that what God has put in us is helping to make a change not only in us but in SO MANY others.
Q: Tell us the show slogan and mission, and what do you get from producing this show?
A: The slogan is "bringing spiritual awareness to worldly issues"Mission is to have positive, uplifting media content for all ages and genderWe get a feeling of thankfulness to have been chosen to speak to a multitude of people about the goodness of God that we serve.
Q: We are coming to an end of an era with the last year of President Obama's presidency. What has these last years 8 years meant for you, and where do you see us as a nation since he took office?
A: These last eight years has shown me that this country has made some strides in the way of race and gender not playing a factor when it comes to leadership, which opens more doors for those to come and I'm grateful for that I see that our nation has taken great dives in unemployment rates and that our economy has stabilized since President Obama has been in office.
Q: Have you requested to do an interview yet with either the President, the First Lady, or both?
A: LOL, no not yet however now that you've put the thought in my head.... I'm on it! I'd be honored to interview our humble, cool President and caring, stylish First Lady!
Q: Finally, as a mother, wife, business woman, and Christian woman of God, what do you hope people will get from watching shows on OPOV Network?
A: An understanding of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, accepting Him into their hearts and knowing that He loves us no matter what! Also, lots of laughs and tears of joy!
