Paranormal activity 2 (film)

Updated on February 22, 2012

Paranormal activity 2

Having enjoyed watching paranormal activity, I was looking forward to watching number 2 this weekend as it opened here in the UK. The first one was good, it didn’t make me jump or anything like that, not like in the trailers when they showed it the USA audience. These days it seems to take a lot for me to jump maybe watch too many films.

Paranormal activity 2 I thought it was better than the first, still on the same lines as the first one and there does seem to be more in the film to make you jump and be scared. The girls in the audience that I sat with were screaming out which to be honest made me laugh, and added to the enjoyment of the film. Paranormal activity 2 also intertwines with first one, before the first one starts and carries on were the first one left off without giving to much away and spoiling it if you intend to go and see the film for yourself. I would recommend that you see it the cinema, were as if you wait until it’s out on DVD it won’t have the same effort of with watching it with a mixed audience. I do prefer to see a film on the big screen as it gives you a better viewing of the film were as seeing it on DVD on the small screen I find sometimes the film is lost.

The film same as the first one is made using a hand held video cam and some static surveillance cameras which are put up around the house after what the couple had thought was a break-in to the house when they went away. The film is good and well put together, specially seeing that it incorporates the first one. I just thought it might be just another film on the same lines but with it incorporating the first one too it made it a better film. You don’t need to see the first film to watch this one, but it may be a good idea to watch it.

Paranormal Activity is one of those rare gems where you love it or you hate it. It seemed slow to start with, but when it gets going it in my view was good and worth spending 90 mins in the cinema on the cold October night. If you have a few hours to spare and you enjoyed the first paranormal activity film you are going to love this one.

Have fun, take care

Thanks for the review Kevin. I meant to see the first one because I tend to love movies that are mysterious, sci-fi, crime investigations, spirits, etc.. I need to watch both parts of this one with a big bowl of popcorn.

Thank you, the third one came out here in the UK in October, but never got around to seeing it, I'll have to get it out on DVD now.

I'm a massive fan of these flicks, and the third one is coming out (or has it already?). Good written review--no spoilers!
