I have been working hard on producing some educational, thought-provoking Hubs for my readers and getting some pretty nice feedback. However, since I am not a famous author and instead I am a just a warm and caring person, I like to stay on a more personal level with my friends. Publishers call you my readers. I call you my friends.
Having never produced a photo Hub/blog, I thought I may give it a try with the emphasis being on springtime in the town I currently live in. The inspiration hit me as soon as I opened the front door of our apartment to get my little people off the school bus. I had been inside typing away all day and had not even noticed all the beauty that was outside my window screaming to me until four o'clock in the afternoon!
Springtime's Budding Trees
This is a photo taken on our walk returning from the playground. As Tommy bounced his basketball and Sarah did a graceful dance while walking along beside me, the budding trees in the background of this photo took my breath away! | Source
A magnolia sings a beautiful song in blossoms at an Oak Hall residence. | Source
Where I come from, budding trees mean spring has come to town. I'm happy! | Source
This tree just north of Davis' Home Center is awesome! The house where the tree lives is for sale. | Source
A pair of beautiful budding trees thrive in a local yard. | Source
There are budding trees all over this town! | Source
The tree in the foreground is budding white as snow while the trees behind it bud in deep reds. | Source
Try explaining to a 9 year old boy that from these red buds come green leaves. Fun stuff! I wonder...Does anyone else see what eye see in this tree? | Source
This photo speaks for itself and the tree is magnificent! | Source
This tree, on the edge of the Arcadia High School property, already has leaves and looks as though it is about to flower. | Source
Yesterday was frigid. I couldn't put on enough clothes to make myself feel any level of warmth and I did not accomplish much, because my anemic body tends to seize up when I'm cold.
Today is hot! The sun is shining like it's August, the birds are chirping, children are mobbed at the local parks and softball/baseball games are going on behind me threefold as I sit at a picnic table, enjoy and write. I even saw a lonely honeybee light onto a dandelion on the walk here...
Springtime Ground Cover
Dandelions pepper the ground befriended by one tiny blue flower. | Source
The rabbits are going to love these patchy gifts of clover Mother Nature herself planted for them. | Source
Another patch of clover found on the opposite side of the highway. These are actually very beautiful up close. | Source
At the edge of a local forest, the greenery from which day lilies and daffodils will soon sprout are alive and spreading, making for some pretty awesome ground cover. | Source
The green grass is even flourishing in the median strip! | Source
We didn't see many, but wild onions are coming up. Why did my mother tell me that these were poisonous? | Source
Sometimes as we walk along, we are too busy or too stressed to stop and notice the small things. We are doing ourselves a great injustice by just passing things by and taking them for granted. A good example are the flowers in next the set of photos. People walk by these very same tiny flowers everyday in the spring, but many do not notice just how magically beautiful they are. They truly did, and do through these photos, take me to another place...
I won't speak for them, I think they speak for themselves.
Motorcycles and Baseball
Any way possible to spend some time outside, people are doing it today.
I almost didn't catch him! | Source
Unfortunately, I don't know much about baseball... | Source
RUN, FOREST, RUN!!! | Source
Remember when this was us playing in the park? Days like this sure are sentiment invoking!
Every kid at the park is currently on these monkey bars. | Source
If we could still slide down the slides, we would all still be slim from the climbs! | Source
She didn't yell, "Weeee." My little ones do. | Source
Wow! They have really sprung into action! | Source
They really like these monkey bars! | Source
Spring's Paint on the Overall Landscape
In a few random areas, there are actually daffodils blooming. | Source
Ah yes! Time for a cookout! | Source
Nothing screams spring on the Eastern Shore of Virginia like these beautiful green fields, which are abundant here. | Source
I love it that through technology, we just took a walk AND played at the park together...Thank you, my friend, for enjoying this beautiful day with me :)
