Walk with Me, It's Springtime in Oak Hall

Updated on April 6, 2011
My two youngest children, Sarah and Tommy, sit on the curb as I stop to take photographs on our way to the store. The warm weather seemed to have a very calming affect on my children. I like that.

I have been working hard on producing some educational, thought-provoking Hubs for my readers and getting some pretty nice feedback. However, since I am not a famous author and instead I am a just a warm and caring person, I like to stay on a more personal level with my friends. Publishers call you my readers. I call you my friends.

Having never produced a photo Hub/blog, I thought I may give it a try with the emphasis being on springtime in the town I currently live in. The inspiration hit me as soon as I opened the front door of our apartment to get my little people off the school bus. I had been inside typing away all day and had not even noticed all the beauty that was outside my window screaming to me until four o'clock in the afternoon!

Springtime's Budding Trees

This is a photo taken on our walk returning from the playground. As Tommy bounced his basketball and Sarah did a graceful dance while walking along beside me, the budding trees in the background of this photo took my breath away!

Try explaining to a 9 year old boy that from these red buds come green leaves. Fun stuff! I wonder...Does anyone else see what eye see in this tree?

Yesterday was frigid. I couldn't put on enough clothes to make myself feel any level of warmth and I did not accomplish much, because my anemic body tends to seize up when I'm cold.

Today is hot! The sun is shining like it's August, the birds are chirping, children are mobbed at the local parks and softball/baseball games are going on behind me threefold as I sit at a picnic table, enjoy and write. I even saw a lonely honeybee light onto a dandelion on the walk here...

Sometimes as we walk along, we are too busy or too stressed to stop and notice the small things. We are doing ourselves a great injustice by just passing things by and taking them for granted. A good example are the flowers in next the set of photos. People walk by these very same tiny flowers everyday in the spring, but many do not notice just how magically beautiful they are. They truly did, and do through these photos, take me to another place...

I won't speak for them, I think they speak for themselves.
