Syd Barrett (Wish You Were Here)

Syd Barrett was the band's original lead singer. He was with the band for the first few albums before mental problems led him astray from the band and he never returned. He spent his final years in a mental institution and was never released.

Meet The Band

Roger Waters (Vocals, Bass, Guitar) Waters wrote most of the songs and he usually got very deep with his music. His voice is very clear and it is easy to listen to his songs.

David Gilmore (Guitar, Vocals) Gilmore wrote a few songs and was the lead singer on a few but, it was guitar skills that are so legendary. Anyone who has a hand in writing for this group, are so talented and gifted with words. Some of the songs are love songs and then they can change over to being very political.

Nick Mason (Drums) Those awesome beats you hear in the background and during the chorus are because of this man. Can you imagine being the drummer for this cool band? So many opportunities were given because of his connection to his band.

Richard Wright (Piano) Those beautiful piano and keyboard solo's belong to this man. Piano and keyboard are both used during several of Pink Floyd's songs. He plays a very important part in this group.

Syd Barrett (Vocals, Guitar) Barrett was the lead vocalist on the first few Floyd records. This vocalist will truly be missed. He had to leave the band because of mental reasons.

One thing that I really can not comprehend, is the amount of songs and amount of music made by this band. Some times they are misunderstood and I think that could be because of the truly deep meaning of their songs. Their is a book out to help you understand the meaning of their songs because, they are afraid we can't grasp how deep they are!

The Wall: The Movie

The movie was released in 1982 and it is based on the Pink Floyd album of the same name. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd Vocalist and bassist Roger Waters. The movie uses sound and imagery to illustrate its point and its mostly a musical mixed with animated images and it is fabulous. A must see because it has Pink Floyd's The Wall songs playing throughout but mainly because the animated scenes are wicked and it mixes well with the live acting scenes.

Another Brick in The Wall!

The Wall is a classic Pink Floyd album and it's also a movie. On compact disc it came with two CD's and the cover art is out of this world from front to back.

Hi Leslie. Pink Floyd is my favorite band. I grew up with them as my father was a die-hard fan. I've seen them twice in concert and pinch myself still. My 11 year old son has just taught himself Comfortably Numb on the guitar and its amazing how much he likes them as well. Thanks for the read!

They are my favorite also. In 1994 they came and did the Pulse tour in Birmingham, Alabama. To this day it's the biggest music concert in Alabama history.
