Princess Charlene of Monaco a mother, Christening

10 MAY 2015

Really was a Joyous Day in Monaco for Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco as there five month old twins were christened.

On the arrival of the twins at the Cathedral of Monaco with their nannies, the royal couple also arrived, Princess Charlene looking stunning in a cropped ivory top and elegant matching skirt, Prince Albert also looked quite dapper.

Princess Gabriella & Prince Jacques were both dressed in white christening gowns by Dior, with personalised dummies in pink & one in blue. They were both well behaved during the church ceremony, even during the actual christening with the water.

The boy who is the heir is called Prince Jacques Honore' Rainier Grimaldi, the girl who is called Princess Gabriella Theresa Marie Grimaldi

Princess Charlene's side of the family were there as well, her parents Lynette and Michael Wittstock, her brother Gareth and Seas and their wives.

Gareth Wittstock is one of the godparents to Princess Gabriella as well as the former South African rugby captain's Francois Pienaar, wife Nerine Pienaar.

Prince Jacques godparents are Prince Albert's cousins, Christopher Le Vine Jr, and Diane de Polignac Nigra.

The proud royal couple stepped out of the Cathedral of Monaco after the church service in the glorious May sunshine with there son Prince Jacques and daughter Princess Gabriella.

After the ceremony the twins went back to the palace with their nannies for security reasons by car, while their parents Prince Albert & Princess Charlene walked the distance back to the palace, speaking to people, shaking hands.

Princess Charlene and her Charities

Charlene Wittstock first happened to meet Prince Albert of Monaco at the swimming meet Mare Nostrum in 2000 in Monaco. One of the first appearances together was at the 2006 Winter Olympics opening ceremony. Charlene moved to Monaco, though she still carried on with her swimming, still going on to win in a competition in South Africa. She only retired from swimming after an injury prior to the Olympics in Sydney. The engagement was finally announced on the 23 June 2010 with the wedding taking place in 1st and 2nd July 2011. Charlene became the Princes consort of Monaco and Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco, we wont forget the last person to hold this title, beloved Princess Grace.

She accompanied Prince Albert to the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden in 2010, later after the engagement she also went with him to Prince William and Kate's wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The engagement ring from Prince Albert of Monaco was a pear-shaped three-carat diamond in the center with the surrounds being round brilliants, created by Parisian jeweler Repossi.

A few of the Charities of Princess Charlene

The Special Olympics where she is the global ambassador for the movement helping to promote respect and recognition for people with intellectual disabilities. Princess Charlene has said that this project is close to her heart being a former athlete herself she values the role of “using the power of sport to change lives”.

The Giving Organization Trust which is made up of 10 charities which she is the co-patron with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Archbishop Tutu. The charity focuses on a wide range of issues from HIV to children and environmental protection. This is her way of giving back to her native country.

See a quote from Princess Charlene of Monaco

“And she clearly is passionate about the subject. “You know, I can teach an 18-month-old toddler to swim,” Charlene said. These days, she swims four times per week, in the sea. And she laughed when we asked if her husband’s swimming has improved since they met. “He needs his backstroke!” Princess Charlene said.”

I watched this wedding on the news, and found it remarkable, very beautiful and luxurious. Princesse Charlene is really a beauty. This year has already given two royal marriages to the world, and it's great. Monarchy is precious. It marks a certain point in the cultural and social development of the humankind. Just like the Parlament and other governmental institutions. Royalty represents a certain value to the society. And sometimes it is a good tradition worth keeping.
