Robyn Rihanna Fenty

Not many people are known by a single name in almost every household in the world. Although she would answer to her given name, Robyn, we all know her better as Rihanna.

She was born in Barbados on February 20, 1988 and raised in Bridgetown. In 2003 her career began when she met record producer Evan Rogers. Since then she has smashed her way into every chart in the world, but what is she really like. Let's find out. Based on interviews here's 15 things she wants you to know.

Superlatives

She's had 4 Billion viewers on YouTube that's a illion with a B. On Facebook she's got 86 million likes (that is tantamount to the entire population of Argentina and Spain put together) and is the best selling digital artist in the world. She adores Adele and her favourite television show is Jersey Shores.

Hairbrushing

She used to stand in front of the mirror as a child and, with a hairbrush for a microphone, sing so loudly that her neighbours would complain. At high school she won a talent show singing Mariah Careys song "Hero".

Brad Pitt or George Clooney

Asked who she would rather date. Brad pitt or George Clooney? She says "You think about it then look at Brad Pitt and think.......Damn, who was the other guy?"

The Competition

"There is competition between Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and me. That's why women are so dominant at the moment, because we're so competitive. We cannot stand to see another woman do better than us. That bothers us a lot. As much as you guys have egos ours are a lot bigger. We're just better at hiding them."

Great Quote

"I'm not a ho, I'm just ho'ish!"

The Colour Of Your Skin

"I was teased when I was young, in Barbados, about being biracial and this kind of helped me to be thick-skinned. In the long run it gave me more confidence."

The Colour Of Your Hair

"My natural hair colour is a rusty sand blond, which is gross. I prefer black.....hands down."

Fashion

She was asked about fashion "Is there anything you wouldn't do?"

"I'm sure theres a list, but I can't think of anything off top. I am spontanious and adventurous. I do love to try things when it comes to visuals, looks and shoots. Just go for it. What's the worst that can happen?"

21st Century Reggea

"The hook, rude boy, was supposed to be the intro, but it was so catchy we just made it the hook."

"When people read it back to me (adopts a dignified lady pose) "Come here Rude boy is you big enough?" It does sound so disgusting."

Her Family

When she is with her family, she is not a multi-milllionairess pop superstar. She is a normal twenty-something girl who loves and respects her family.

Being Rihanna The Sex Symbol

"It's flattering and it's a compliment. I won't say it's something I get used to."

That Person

"I am strong. This happened to me and it can happen to anybody. I didn't do it. It's something that nobody wants anybody to know and here I am, the whole world knowing. It's embarrassing that I fell so far in love with that person. I'm a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal with all these expectations. I'm not perfect."

Soul Mate

"I want a man that loves me, cherishes me, values me. Thay have to know my worth. I want them to respect me, but I want fun times. I want laughs. I want laughs more than anything. I have everything else. All I want is a partner in crime to enjoy it with me."

Her Own Favourite Song

It was Umberella, that is until Diamonds was recorded. "It's a really powerful song that just sucks you in"

One Of Her Favourite Foods

One of her favourite foods is microwave butter popcorn as is West Indian food.

That's true .....although she has featured on the same records as Shontelle, Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj......as have Lady Gaga and Beyonce. To me it is impossible to compete in music...it's all good.....and anyway Beethoven has them all beat.

I've always liked Rihanna. It's a shame to read that she feels so much competition with other female artists. I'm a believer that women should support one another. We're all unique and talented in our own ways and should be supporting and encouraging with each other. Hopefully with age she learns that. Voted up!
