Margaret Minnicks has been an online writer for many years. She writes articles that are interesting to her readers.

Kensington Palace announced on Monday, October 15 that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child in the Spring of 2019. The Duke and Duchess are currently on a 16-day tour to four countries including Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.

This is their first official tour as husband and wife. They are scheduled to make 76 appearances. Meghan is expected to change outfits about three or four times a day. People are watching her closely as they try to see her baby bump.

Kensington Palace Statement

Kensington Palace made a statement indicating that after Meghan's 12-week scan, she is feeling great and everything is fine. She traveled 22 hours on an airplane to Australia for the first day of round the clock engagements. When they landed, she looked energized and excited.

The family was told about the pregnancy last Friday at Princess Eugenie wedding even though the official announcement to the public came three days later. There had been rumors for weeks, but no one knew for sure until the announcement came from Kensington Palace.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Reaction

From the time they were engaged last November, the royal couple expressed an interest in starting a family right away. They got married on May 19 in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. That was five months ago, and the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex and the 34-year-old Duke of Sussex are happy about having a baby so soon.

During his first speech in Australia, Prince Harry said how happy he and his wife are now that they are expecting. Meghan echoed the same thing. She said, "We're ready! We're excited to join the club."

Meghan's Mother's Reaction

Doria Ragland said she is very happy and is looking forward to having her first grandchild.

Earlier reports indicated that Ragland will be moving to London to be near her daughter. Now, she has another good reason for wanting to be there.

The Royals' Reactions

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are delighted to welcome their eighth great-grandchild.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall are also happy that there will be a new addition to the royal family. During Prince Charles' visit to the Royal Lochnagar Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, he told a reporter that he was very happy to be a grandfather for the fourth time.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are glad there will be a first cousin and a playmate for their children: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and six-month-old Prince Louis.

The new royal will be seventh in line to the throne whether it's a boy or girl. As of now, it has not been determined if the child will have the title Prince or Princess like the cousins. Queen Elizabeth is the one to make that decision.

Samantha Markle's Reaction

Meghan's half-sister, Samantha Markle, reacted to the pregnancy news. She gave her statement to The Sun. Her remarks started out pretty nice. She said she was happy for the royal couple. She added that she wants Meghan to be happy and calm and have peace. That was positive.

Then her statement took a turn which was not surprising. She said she hopes for the sake of the baby that her father, Thomas Markle, can be included in the baby's life.

According to The Sun, Thomas Markle was notified about the pregnancy before the official announcement was made. He said his daughter will make a great mom and he would like to part of their lives.

How the World Is Responding

As soon as the news was announced, the subject of Meghan's pregnancy began trending on social media. There have been many congratulations and best wishes for the happy couple on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Since the royal couple is on tour, they are receiving well wishes in person as well as baby gifts.

Of course, people are watching whatever the pregnant woman is wearing. She wore a white dress on the first day in Australia. A small baby bump could be seen as she went about her duties.

Ongoing Baby News

There will more than likely be something in the news about Meghan's pregnancy for the next six months. News will be about what the mom to be is wearing. Also, there will be predictions and bets about the baby's name. There have already been computer-generated images of what the baby will look like.

If you are a fan of the royal couple, you will be delighted about all the publicity. If you are not a fan, brace yourself because there will always be news about the royal couple and the baby they are expecting.

Congratulations to Harry and Meghan as they anticipate the Spring arrival of their first child. Have fun talking, reading and singing to the baby now until birth and of course continue afterwards.

I'm so happy for them, I think they are the cutest couple. I find them the most relatable of the royals.
