Top ten pet peeves at the Walmart

Updated on January 23, 2012
  1. People who won't put up their cart at the shopping center. Is it really that difficult. These are the same people who could stand to lose a few pounds ( not a dig on overweight folks, just the lazy overweight ones)
  2. Possibly the same person, who won't put up the cart, is the one who drives around aimlessly looking for a parking spot because they can't walk 50 feet. Or maybe they are saving time by not walking so far, so they can have more time for the gym.
  3. I know we all have experienced tailgaters. No matter how fast you drive they are right on your bumper. If you are on a road with a gravel median you have the perfect opportunity for an attitude adjustment. Slowly let your rear tire slip off the road and cover them with gravel. If you are on the highway you can toss out your coffee, cold drink or sandwich.
  4. People who double park really irritate me. They are usually afraid someone will ding their door, so they make it impossible for you to park normally and get close. I have an old work truck and have gotten really skillful at parking within centimeters of the drivers door.
  5. Have you ever been a four way stop and the person adjacent to you obviously beats you there. Instead of moving they wave you on. This really gets my goat. I like to wave like mad at them, as I would someone I haven't seen in years.
  6. People who talk loudly on cell phones while in line with them really upsets me. I am trapped listening to them. I'd rather pull my toenails out with a pair of pliers.
  7. Pajamas, are you kidding me? You couldn't take 5 minutes to get dressed? Have you no self respect?
  8. Instead of playing scratch offs how bout getting a job? Why do I have to wait for you to play the lottery? Im in a hurry gettin back to work so I can pay for your groceries. Not really at the Walmart, but I had to add it in.
  9. Take a bath. Once again, I'm stuck here. I can't hear or breathe. Why don't you just poke me in the eye.
  10. Last but certainly not least, pull your darn pants up, get a hair cut, and a job.

We have a WalMart in the center of our neighborhood and I've been there twice in two years out of total desperation. I avoid it at all costs. Things happen there that just wouldn't happen at any other store, it's always packed, and people are always inconsiderate. The one time I got so frustrated by the time I was ready to go that I just left my cart in the clothing section and left. Granted, there were a million people and the employees kept closing their lines every time I got close. I waited in 3 lines and the same thing happened every time! Turn off your light if you're planning on leaving and this will prevent angry customers from not returning! But anyway, funny hub!

This was a great hub! #2 and #7 are both things I'm usually yelling at people (in my head) when I see it. They drive me nuts. Walking across the parking wouldn't kill them, would it?? I just drive to the back of parking lots, so I don't get stuck behind the people who will wait 10 minutes while someone else loads their car and pulls out.

They think they are doing you a favor letting you go, but it is an inconvenience.

My pet peeves as well -- which is why I avoid the store like the plague.

I honestly couldn't stop laughing as I was reading this! ITS SO TRUE! Sometimes I see people with some of these same characteristics you wrote and I wonder: Seriously?? I know its only wal mart, but could you put on pants and a nice shirt? LOL Too funny!

Hahaha! I loved this hub! I think we have many of the same pet peeves of Walmart shoppers as you do! Voted up and funny!

I tend to park next to one of the shopping cart returns which may not be the closest parking spot, but I know that I will be having to walk here anyway to return my cart. Thanks for the smiles this morning. Thanks for SHARING.

Wow, you've had some really bad Walmart experiences, haven't you? Nevertheless, I agree with most of them. The four-way stop one, especially--but that happens everywhere, not just in the Walmart parking lot. I'm not sure what's worse--someone not going when it's their turn, or rushing ahead of you when it's not! Either way--pay attention to the rules, people! Voted up and funny. Thanks for SHARING!

Moonlake, I hate to admit that I do something that annoys someone, but I am probably one of those people who crawl up others back.

Susan, that is very annoying as well. I don't understand that, can Walmart not afford the extra payroll?

Shoppers bother me some, though my husband did mention the pjs the other day. I hate people who crawl up my back while I'm in line or paying for my item. Drives me nuts.

I do get upset with no help or rude people who are working there which happens more often than anything with shoppers.

It is funny that you mention the Pajama crack. Just yesterday I went to Walmart to pick up some groceries (I like super walmart because it is convenient for a quick gallon of milk) but anyway... my 9 year old daughter asked me, "Mommy, why do people come to Walmart in the pajamas!" Seriously - even a 9 year old knows it is wrong! Thanks for SHARING! This was pretty funny!

Oh man, I hear you! I really hate when people do these things! Also, I hate it when people go into Walmart with no shoes on. Why? Is it really that hard to just slip some shoes on really quick? I just don't get it. Yuk.

Luckily, there's a Target in my town. I don't know about everywhere else, but shopping at Target here and then shopping at Walmart is like traveling between two completely different worlds!

One of my pet peeves is that you can't find anyone to help you anywhere if you have a question. If you ask even the manager for help, he acts completely irritated.

I have a big Pet Peeve about Walmart itself. Picture this: It's Christmas and the store is packed. Go to check out with 3 items which I'm purchasing. The express checkout has 7 empty cashes and it is closed. There are 2 cashiers on. You would think since it was Christmas time that they would have more cashiers but no. So many people were leaving the store without their purchases that night.

My fiance likes to drive around looking for a close parking spot. She's skinny but incredibly lazy.

    Voted up and funny

This is funny! But I definitely agree with people who are too lazy to park further away and the cart abandoners. That's just wrong. Great hub!

Sounds like you might have bigger issues with road rage and politics lol. There are def a few things that irk me there, too, but I'm there so much, I just think of it as entertainment and keep it moving :)
