Review of the Album "Tarot" by Spanish Power Metal Band Dark Moor
Introducing "Tarot" and Why Dark Moor is Such a Great Band
Tarot is much more than just the 2007 studio album by Spanish power metal giants (veterans) Dark Moor. I call them veterans or giants of the power metal scene because their symphonic songs, pounding drums, creative riffs and good vocals make them a great candidate for one of the best power metal bands not just in Spain but all time.
The Magician and the Origin of the Album's Title Tarot
The Magician which is a BEAUTIFUL 1.5 minute instrumental song starts what may very well be the best Dark Moor album in the Alfred Romero era. Tarot is a special album because all of the songs are named after a card game. More specifically, the song titles are named after the Major Arcana deck of cards. We might as well take this musical journey together.
The Chariot and The Star
The Chariot features some pretty decent vocals as the power metal influence is heard. However, this is not the industrial power metal that fans heard on the albums by Dreamaker. The Star is a song that tries to convey the message that just as the stars come into the night sky, there is hope in life if we just believe. The power of belief is very important and it has been stated by all life coaches. If the soul could fly, it could see things from the sky. The soul is in every human being because we are spiritual beings having a worldly experience. Count your lucky stars that you are able to read this review and appreciate the band Dark Moor.
A Card Symbolizing True Love & the Song Lovers
Other Notable Songs in Tarot Include the One Called Lovers
The Emperor is a song about the powers of the emperor in an empire. He has the power to restore the peace when he wants to. He has the power to take over the empire and he also has the power to enforce the rules and the people of the empire have to answer to him. All empires throughout the world have had powerful emperors that have basically been chosen as GOD’s representative on Earth. Devil in the Tower is a symphonic song that is about how this demon can get into our hearts and minds and tell us lies that will befall us. The human ego might as well be the same as his because it is our ego that can get in the way of our success by letting us know that we are not worthy of success. We are worthy of success if we just ignore these temptations and focus on our goals. The song though has a repetitive chanting part that probably should not have been in the song. The best song in this album is the song called Lovers, a song that is sure to raise your vibration and bring you whatever you desire. Lovers is about what happens when Cupid uses the arrows and true love is born. True love can last a lifetime and it has the power to bring people and communities together. The human soul is filled with the light of love which we all celebrate as being the most powerful feeling of its kind in life. The Hanged Man is a song that explores what we can do to find the meaning of the Universe at large and the meaning of our lives. Why are we here on this Earth? There is a mission for all of us and one my missions is to be the best writer possible. Time seems to make some people drown and it is valuable how we use this time that we have for our benefit.

The Moon Has a Few Parts From Two Famous Beethoven Classics
The Moon has a modernized version of a few parts of Beethoven’s Symphony #5 and the Moonlight Sonata which is one of the most beautiful classical songs of all time. It is in the presence of the moon that it is said that we can see a glimpse of how life is like. When GOD created the Earth, HE made sure that there would be night and day. The Moonlight Sonata is modernized in this song but you can still hear the classical influence in the song. Thanks to Ludwig Van Beethoven (1770-1827) and his creative genius that the world is still listening to and performing this song which has a beauty and passion that is hard to describe. The beginning piano part is faster than the original piece and you can hear the lead guitar work as well. Dark Moor decided to experiment with their power metal style and in this instance it is a winning formula. With the Moonlight Sonata being a classical love song, it would be a disservice if we did not dedicate this song to the one that we love dearly. I know that I will do this and the Moonlight Sonata is being dedicated today to my first love!

Final Thoughts About "Tarot"
Noticeable is the choir like aspect of Tarot especially in the song called Death. Dark Moor should not have come up with such a title for the song but it is one of those things in music that bands sometimes. Overall even if Tarot is the best album in the Alfred Romero era, it still cannot be as good as The Hall of the Olden Dreams or The Gates of Oblivion. The songs in those two albums have a certain magical feel that later albums do not. Even so, Tarot is a very good power metal album that has that classical influence. The best songs are The Magician, Lovers, and The Moon.
