Review of the Album "Weapons of Thrash Destruction" by Canadian Thrash Metal Band Terrifier
In Spite of the Album's Title the Music on Weapons of Thrash Destruction is Very Well Thought Out and Creative
As if the amount of thrash metal bands in the world couldn’t get any bigger, Terrifier is another one of those thrash metal bands that have stormed onto the scene bringing with them tough, aggressive screaming vocals and technical as heck riffs that even have me impressed! Can you guess what country these guys are from? Some of you would be surprised to hear that Terrifier is a band from Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada. Weapons of Thrash Destruction is the second studio album from these talented Canadians and is it a gem of an album? It is not a gem because it is not perfect but it is darn near pretty close to that. The kind of start that this album begins with is that it builds up into a speedy, terrific thrash metal tune!
There Is a Megadeth Influence In This Album
There is a definite Megadeth influence in the song called “Nuclear Demolisher” because it is easy to detect the riffing from the song called "Blackmail the Universe" from 2004’s The System Has Failed. But let’s not even begin to compare this album to that one as I think in terms of thrash metal creativity, this one has the obvious upper hand on that 2004 studio album. It is only a matter of time before Canada gets that thrash metal greatness that the United States had in the 1980’s. "Reanimator" is the song that sets the tone for this album as vocalist and bassist Chase Thibodeau lets out a scream and haunted type of laugh and here comes an album full of intense speed and lightning fast solos. It is not just the speed that makes this album impressive. It is also that when this band covers the issue of deception, they address it very well in the next song called Deceiver. This is a song about someone that lies to other people’s faces and they play games with other people. The beginning of that song sounds a little bit like Metallica’s "No Remorse" song. There is also a bit of Testament influence in this song as well. Violent Reprisal is the 4th song of this album and lyrically it is trying to tell us to fight against the forces of power and greed that are pushing the most vulnerable of the world’s population down even further.

Lyrical Themes and the Rest of the Album Weapons of Thrash Destruction
The album’s lyrical themes are social and political in nature focusing on how countries can obtain freedom and what the dangers of using nuclear weapons are. Terrifier is a band that knows how to be modern, play solos that make sense musically and the vocals are well, pretty good as well! D.A.F. though is a song about drinking and partying until the sun comes up. "Bestial Tyranny" is a song about how our thoughts can consume our minds and make us a prisoner to them, thus not allowing ourselves to succeed. "Riders of Doom" is the first and only instrumental song in an album full of fast as heck thrash metal. This one has creative, lead guitar work.
Weapons of Thrash Destruction Is an Elite Thrash Metal Album
Overall, this second studio album from these Canadians is superb and it is an album that thrash metal fans all over the world should listen to and THIS is how a band constructs a thrash metal album.
