Review of the Mini Album Trinity Terror by American Thrash Metal Band Cruel Bomb

The band Cruel Bomb from the state of Pennsylvania is another American thrash metal band that I just happened to find out about and so far these guys have released two mini albums, their latest one being called Trinity Terror.

Immediately from the get go, the first song called “The End” sounds like a more modern version of Sepultura in terms of the vocals and in some of the guitar work too. Just like so many bands of the genre out there, the song lyrically focuses on the fact that there is a revolution which will lead to the end of our way of life as we previously knew it. As this is a four song mini album it is going to be very challenging to provide a long analyzed review but we will do our best. Cruel Bomb is a band from Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania and in this first song, I can hear even a Prong kind of influence because there is a definite industrial influence but the music is even heavier.

I was probably a bit harsh when I had thought previously that the United States metal scene is declining. While MTV is not the same channel it used to be, there still are newer American bands that come up and Cruel Bomb is one of them. We can surmise that American metal has just evolved into something different. I have noticed that more thrash metal bands have come into existence compared to other areas of the metal genre.

Fight or Flight is a heavy song about not rebelling against the social order of things and not disrespecting others because there will be consequences for these actions. While this is a decent kind of thrash metal and the guitars are heavy, there is not that “wow” kind of moment to impress you to that level.

Teeth Grinder is a song about sticking to your principles while you strive to reach the top of your success whatever it takes. The person described in this song will not back down and he will do whatever it takes for him to wear the crown and reach the highest level of his potential.

Atomic Demolition Munition is the last song of this mini album and this song lyrically is about unleashing these forces which will bring war over the land thus ending human life as we know it. That's not the most positive subject but American thrash metal seems to have entered a heavier phase with these newer bands. The band Cruel Bomb with this mini album shows that they are a pretty good group of guys that know how to be heavy and play but if you are interested in better American thrash metal check out bands like Havok instead.
