The World According To Garp

The World According To Garp is a comedy drama movie that stars Robin Williams, Glenn Close, John Lithgow and Mary Beth Hurt. A very odd film, to say the least. Garp (Williams) doesn't know his dad and his mom are feminist to the core. The film deals with sex and family issues. I would rank this movie in my top five strangest movies that I have ever seen.

My favorite movie was Awakenings. Both Williams and DeNiro were fabulous. It's interesting because Robert DeNiro has also suffered from mental health issues. Very sad that Robins life is over so soon. Too bad all the love he had and all the joy he brought others was lost because of mental illness. We sometimes treat the mentally ill as if they can get over their illness easier than a physical illness but most times it is even more difficult. RIP Robin
