Classic 90s Bands

1. Metallica-Metallica was a combination of hard rock and heavy metal. Their instrumentals were ahead of their time. Some of their hit songs include: Enter Sandman, One, Sad But True. This heavy metal band is from Los Angeles California. They have had some of the hardest guitar sounds in heavy metal history as well as some deep and moving slower songs. The video for the song "One" is dramatic and disturbing. It's about the war and a hurt soldier trying to use S.O.S. to communicate. This is one hard rocking metal, rock band.

2. Pearl Jam-Pearl Jam was formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. Some of their songs include Go, Animal, Daughter, Ten, VS., and Dissident. The band was known for it's bad boy attitude and their refusal for traditional music. They also participated in the well known boycott of Ticketmaster in 2006. They toured all over the place and were very popular, selling out concerts.

3. SoundGarden-A type of alternative/grunge band formed in 1984 in Seattle, Washington. I really like the way that the group interacts with the crowd during their concerts. Black Hole Sun and Spoonman are two of their songs. In 1997, the band broke up due to conflicts in which direction the band was going in. They later would get back together in 2010. Black Hole Sun was the only song that I liked from this type of music.

4. Motley Crue-Songs made popular by this group are: Girls, Girls, Girls, Home Sweet Home, Smokin' In the Boys Room. This group is known as an All American Heavy Metal Band. This heavy metal band was formed in Los Angeles, California with Tommy Lee, Nikki Six, Mick Mars and Vince Neil. They made heavy metal, hard rock and soft rock songs during their illustrious career. Vince Neil is still making news today. Albeit for reasons other than his musical career.

5. Nirvana-One of the creators of the grunge rock band movement. Although Curt Cobain died before his time, he left behind a great deal of spectacular music like the album, Smells Like Teen Spirit. The band began in Washington in 1987 and had three studio albums and three live albums. Curt Cobain is truly missed. I used to own a RIP Curt Cobain shirt. I feel like he still had a lot of music left to give us, had his life not ended so quickly.

6. Guns N Roses-Appetite for Destruction is the album that I have. Welcome To The Jungle is still popular along with Sweet Child Of Mine. They also had amazing hits like November Rain, Paradise City, Patience. This was truly one of my favorites. There are two versions of November Rain. One lasts for over 10 minutes. The solo by Slash makes this song special indeed. This is another one of those amazing bands that has been able to stand the test of time.

7. Stone Temple Pilots-Stone Temple Pilots started in California in 1986. The band released (6) six studio albums and won The Grammy Award for best hard rock performance for three separate years. They are a cross between alternative rock and grunge rock, with a mix of blues.

8. Red Hot Chili Peppers-Anthony Keithas has a crisp and clear voice and a lot of their songs had a social undertone. They won seven (7) Grammy Awards while making ten (10) studio albums thus far. Their great hits include: Under The Bridge, Californication, Scar Tissue and By The Way. They have a unique sound that no one else can mimic.

9. REM-Known for the song Losing My Religion REM songs focus on political, social, religious and environmental issues. The band was active from 1980 to 2011 and began in Georgia. The band made fifteen(15) total studio albums before retiring for good. Occasionally, they still perform for special events.

10. Nickelback-I got to see this awesome group in concert in Huntsville. They came out rocking and the drummer is the best in my opinion. He did a drum solo for about fifteen minutes. Some of my favorite songs are Photograph, How You Remind Me, If Everyone Cared and Far Away. Their music gets better and better with time in that, when they first started it was hard to understand some of the lyrics. They have sharpened up the sound and now the music has soared to a new level of popularity.

Nickelback

Nickelback has some very sexy music. The heavy drums and their skills on the guitar is undeniable.
