Rock Stars’ Philosophical and Inspirational Quotes.
© 2012 by Theocharis Vagelis
Rock music has a powerful impact on society. Rock has influenced daily life, social behavior, fashion and attitudes. The Rock Music lifestyle has been associated with sex and drugs, groupies, extreme fashion styles, extreme appearances, and many more.
On the other hand, it is Rock Stars and Rock Music Icons that historically have been more sensitive to social issues and have attempted to call for action. Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and John Lennon raised their anti-war voices.
Others have written and interpreted songs that concern issues such as racism (i.e. Peter Gabriel’s “Biko”), civil war and violence (i.e. U2’s “Sunday Bloody Sunday”), student protests (i.e. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Ohio”) and world poverty (i.e. Live Aid, Band Aid, We are Stars, Farm Aid, etc).
Furthermore, some Rock artists have a profound spirituality and others inspire people with their performances, their lyrics and their sayings.
In this hub I present my favorite Rock Stars’ Philosophical and Inspirational Quotes.
