The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Welcome the Public to Their Own Instagram Page
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting things in place before their baby is born in just a few weeks. On April 2, 2019, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan launched their own Instagram account. Other members of the royal family already had their own account.
Before launching their own account, activities and news surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were posted on Kensington Palace's account @KensingtonRoyal. Now activities and news surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be posted @SussexRoyal.
Before Meghan became engaged to Prince Harry, the former Suits actress posted frequently on Instagram and Twitter. She deleted all her social media accounts, including her lifestyle blog, The Tig, before marrying Prince Harry on May 19, 2018. Now she has an official joint account with her husband, and they will be posting together things that concern both of them.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's first post stated, "Welcome to our official Instagram We look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @SussexRoyal." Along with their first post was a slideshow of nine photos that have been taken throughout their first year together as a married couple at a variety of official royal engagements.
When you go to their official Instagram account, you will see that their profile photo is not one of themselves. Instead, it is their official logo, which is an intertwined H and M written in white letters under a crown on a dark blue background.
Their first post received more than 410,000 likes by late Tuesday afternoon. No doubt whatever they post will continue to receive likes from people all over the world.
