Salman Khan’s 100 Crore Movies

Salman Khan the star of Bollywood is the only actor who had more success than any actor in Indian cinema. His last seven movies made it large in the Box Office. The least hit movie Jai Ho also crossed 100 crores. This is because of the Brand called SALMAN KHAN. The good thing about the movies is that 70% of his movies are made under his Brothers Banner. This is useful for his Family. As told in a Comedy show told by his Brother that money is still coming to his house than going out.

Now Let us see the movies of Salman khan that made big in the Box Office:

1. Wanted: This movie was released in the year 2009. The movie was a remake of Telugu movie Pokiri which also was the 100 crore movie in Telugu. The movie had Ayesha Takia, Prakash Raj and Vinod Khanna in main roles. Boney Kapoor produced this movie and Prabhu Deva directed it. This was the first that touched 100 crore for the actor. He was excited about it and decided to do movie on his home production with good scripts.

2. DABAANG: The movie was released in the year 2010. This was directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Dhillin Mehta. The movie had a big star cast with Salman was pared opposite Sonakshi Sinha. The casting also had Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapadia and Anupam Kher. 3 Idiots was the movie which released in the year 2009 making 200 crores. DABAANG could not break that record but made it to 100 crores. This was the first Salman Khan movie that made big money and in an interview he mentioned that Indian movies will reach 500 crores margin in the future.

3. READY: The movie was released on the 15th of April 2011. This was a remake of the Telugu movie with the same name. The movie had Salman Khan and Asin in main lead. There were supporting roles played by Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Kangana Ranauth and Arbaaz Khan. The movie had more comedy which was liked by the audience. This made the movie cross 100 crores. This was the second movie for the Super star that crossed the big number. This became the second biggest grosser of the year 2011 that made the producers very happy. The movie was directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Sohail Khan.

4. Body Guard: This movie was released on the 31st of August 2011. This was the second movie of Salman Khan for this year. The movie is the remake of Malayalam block buster movie “Body Guard”. This movie was again remade in Tamil. The director of the movie was Siddique and produced by Atul Agnihotri. The main cast of the movie was Kareena Kapoor, Raj Babbar and Mahesh Manjrekar. The year 2011 was the best year for the Bhai of Bollywood as his two released movies reached 100 crores.

5. Ek Tha Tiger: The movie Ek Tha Tiger starring with his then girl friend Katrina Kaif was released on 15th August 2012. This movie was directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Adithya Chopra. The movie had some real stunt performance by the actor which hurt his Knee. After that many injuries made him postpone some movies. The movie also had Girish Karnad in a good role. This movie was about Agents from Pakistan and India who finally ends up leaving the countries for a living in a different one. The collection was nearly a 200 crores but could not reach it.

6. DABAANG 2: This movie was the sequel of the hit DABAANG released in the year 2010. This movie had same characters played in the first movie. The main change in the movie was the villain of the movie. New Villain was introduced in the movie names Prakash Raj. He played the negative role in Wanted and this time it was big. The movie crossed 150 crores and also a big movie as per collections which made him big star than ever.

7. Jai Ho: This was the first big budget movie of the year 2014. The director of the movie was Sohail Khan. This was a remake of the Telugu film Stalin directed by Gajini fame A R murugadoss. This movie was produced by his brother Sohail Khan. The release of the movie was on 24th January 2014. This did not make big as per expectation. It could make only 112 Crores and finally making 183 crores till date. The cast had new comer Daisy Shah, Tabu and Danny. The movie had some important issue in it but did not make big as per expectations. But the good news is that this was Salman’s double hattrick 100 crore movie.

8. Kick: This movie was released this EID. The starting day had a good collection. It made the third highest grosser movie of all time beating 3 Idiots record. The movie is a remake of the telugu movie Kick. The movie had Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles with Sallu Bhai. This crossed 200 crores in collection but could not beat Chennai Express and Dhoom 3 that was released a year ago. It is in the fourth place in collections as 3 Idiots is in the third place.
