Sam Colt Made Men Equal

Sam Colt Made Men Equal

by Chuck RitenouR 12-23-2K3

verse 1:

In the streets of ole Dodge City, two men face to face

pistols strapped to their legs, both men filled with hate

today they'll test their courage, their quickness and their skill

you better believe if God made man,  Sam Colt made men equal.

verse 2:

Ringo was seventeen and barely five foot tall

they say Doc was twice his age and stood above them all

they had notches on their handle to mark the men they killed

you better believe if God made man, Sam Colt made men equal.

chorus:

a dozen notches on the handle of Ringo's 45

and of all the men Ringo faced, none were left alive

which man was fastest, no one alive could tell

you better believe if God made man, Sam Colt made men equal.

verse 3:

Now Doc was a gambler and Wyatt Earp's only friend

and Ringo made his last mistake when he challenged him

in less than a heart beat, he was dead before he fell

you better believe if God made man, Sam Colt made men equal.

 the end.
