Canadian Actress Serinda Swan
Serinda Swan - Canadian Actress and Model
This article is kind of a preemptive strike.
You know, it's sad that I can't remember the "It" girl before Angelina Jolie, I know there had to be someone.
Now we are going through the Angelina Jolie versus Megan Fox thing, is Megan the next Angelina?
But this young lady is someone that I think may be poised to give Megan a run for her money, even before she takes the crown.
Her name is Serinda Swan and she is a Canadian actress and model.
She was born in West Vancouver, British Columbia on July 11, 1984 giving even more credence to my theory that Canada is trying to produce an army of beautiful women to take over the planet.
Serinda doesn't have a huge body of work yet, but personally I think she may be (raise shields!) better looking than Megan and a more talented actress.
Okay, the more talented actress thing really isn't that hard with Megan....sorry.
Serinda is of Spanish, Scottish, Irish and English descent and the name "Serinda" comes from an ancient Tibetan instrument that's like a flute.
She started acting at the age of three in the 1989 film "Cousins" (a remake of the French film Cousin, cousine) with Ted Danson, Isabella Rossellini, Sean Young, William Petersen and Lloyd Bridges.
She took a break from acting and got heavily into gymnastics and then moved from there to modeling.
As a model, Serinda did work for Guess Jeans, and she beat out 70,000 competitors to get the coveted Guess Watches' holiday campaign.
She was also one of the Dorinha Girls for Dorinha Jeans.
This five foot eight, 119 pound beauty was also the Face of Absolute Poker.

Serinda Swan appeared in a 2006 Milky Way television commercial as the "Why so blue Panda Bear?" girl...
Interestingly, she appeared in the 2005 Bollywood film, Neal 'n' Nikki as Amanda.
She then appeared on one of my favorite TV show, Supernatural as a Hospital Receptionist in the episode "Salvation".
Serinda next appeared on an episode of the Canadian Vampire series, Blood Ties as a "Pretty Young Woman" in the episode "Heart of Ice".
Then she went on to the American and Canadian cable TV series, Exes and Ohs, appearing in the episode "What Goes Around" as Lucianne.
Serinda then appeared in her first TV movie, Beyond Loch Ness as Caroleena in 2008.
After that, she appeared in another on of my favorite TV shows, Psych, as Eileen Mazwell in the episode "Murder?... Anyone?... Anyone?... Bueller?".
In 2009, things really took off for Serinda as she appeared in the film The Break-Up Artist as Ashley.
She followed this up with another TV movie Desperate Escape as Melissa.
Then a bit part on the comedy-drama Reaper, in the episode "Business Casualty".
Another TV movie, Hostile Makeover was next, with Serinda appearing as Amanda Manville, followed by yet another TV movie, Trust, where she played Tiffany.
But then she got my attention when she appeared on yet another of my favorite TV shows, Smallville as the picture perfect Zatanna Zatara.
The episode "Hex" really brought my attention back to Smallville (after it wandered) because their Zatanna looked like she had literally stepped right out of the comics.

Serinda was in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
There she portrayed Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, but if you blink, you'll miss her scene.
In a weird coincidence, Serinda was a model in the 2003 Venus Model Search.
Okay, I know it's just weird to me...LOL
Maxim named Serinda one of the hottest women of poker.
She's listed with other actresses like Pamela Anderson, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Heather Graham and Jenny McCarthy.
Serinda appeared in the sequel to the 1982 film Tron, Tron Legacy as Siren #2.
Serinda appeared again on Supernatural in 2010, this time as another character, the truth goddess Veritas in the episode "You Can't Handle the Truth".
She also appeared on Hawaii Five-0 as Alana in the 2011 episode "Ho'ohuli Na'au".
Her film Lockjaw was changed to The Creature and then to Blood is Blood and back to Creature.
Serinda is now playing Erica Reed, a bounty hunter and expert tracker on the A&E TV show, Breakout Kings which will be back for it's second season in 2012.
Serinda has finished shooting Recoil (with Danny Trejo and Steve Austin) and also The Baytown Disco (with Paul Wesley, Eva Longoria, Billy Bob Thornton and Zoe Bell).
She also has the film Jinn (with Ray Park and William Atherton) in production.
