Hashirama Senju was certainly an interesting character. To be able to defeat Madara Uchiha is something that even Naruto and Sasuke struggled with. Even though he was defeated poorly when he was reanimated, he is a fearsome opponent none the less. And so I did some research on him and found some interesting facts. Here are Seven Facts About Hashirama Senju. Enjoy

1. Gambler

Wonder where did Tsunada get her gambling addiction from?? It was none other than her grandfather that taught her how to gamble. That’s right. Hashirama Senju was a seasoned gambler. Now we don’t know if he was actually as bad as her granddaughter at gambling. He was a gambler though. This is what matters.

2. Sage Mode

Hashirama can also use sage jutsu. However it is not based on frog senjutsu like Jiraya and Naruto or snake senjutsu like Kabuto and Orochimaru. Hashirama’s sage mode also allows him to heal himself. Not only that this is a sage mode that only he can use, or rather that uses. No one else has ever used in his family and there are no signs of it either. Since he doesn’t summon an animal either, it is hard to tell if he uses a senjutsu achieved from an animal or by himself.

3. Wood Style

It’s no surprise that Hashirama is the only character who can use wood style. Tenzo (Captain Yamato) has Hashirama’s cells in his body. However, Hashirama has its own unique speciality. Wood Style Dragon technique can siphon off chakra from the tailed beast. That is why you see Captain Yamato always use that technique. Not only that, his others wood style techniques are also quite efficient against tailed beast. It is an effective technique for fighting against any tailed beasts.

4. Wood Human Technique

He can put a tailed beast to sleep, by hand or coming in contact with it. Specifically he used his Hokage-Style Sixty-Year-Old Technique-Kakuan Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hand. Awesome!!

6. Depression

Well, to say the least, Hashirama Senju had depression issues. Hashirama goes through some serious depression issues and it doesn’t take much to send him into depression. Even though he is faster at coming out of it than going into it. That sounds weird… I’m sorry.

7. Physical Stamina

Hashirama being the avatar or incarnation of Asura, like Naruto, has amazing physical, stamina and durability, just like him. He also has immense amount of chakra, which is one of the major requirements of senjutsu chakra. Hashirama probably went through a lot of training in order to gain immense chakra, that he can use in order to control the nature energy required to awaken the senjutsu chakra.
