One of the most interesting and popular characters of Shingeki no Kyojin is, of course, Hange Zoe. She is a high ranked member of Survey Corps who is leading the Fourth squad. Survey Corps are one branch of the military who is in direct contact with Titans. Even the normal soldiers of Survey Corps are stronger than those from the other branches.

One of the members of Hange's squad is Moblit, who is the heaviest drinker among all veterans of the Survey Corps according to Hajime Isayama.

In anime/manga Hange is almost always seen around Levi Ackerman. She loves to tease him on some occasions but Levi returns her by hitting her and making her lose consciousness just so she would finally take a bath according to Hajime Isayama.

Even though she is always drawn smiling, Hajime Isayama has said that she is the scariest when she is pissed off.

Throughout the manga scenes where someone was referring to Hange, they would call her simply as Hange with no pronouns around her name that would helps us learn what gender she is. I'm writting about Hange like she is a female characters but Hajime Isayama decided never to tell us her gender after so many questions and interviews. And she is not alone!

Nanaba is referred as a male character in the manga and voiced by female voice actor appearing as a female character in the anime.

Ok, we don't know Hange's gender but there is something we do know! What kind of a partner Hange would want. In of the character interviews Hange said she would want a partner who would be fine even she can't pay him enough attention.

Hange would be probably more focused on Titans and their dissections.

Sometimes Hange can't tell apart Jean from Reiner when she is not wearing glasses but all over the internet you can find blogs posting that Hange does not need her glasses and she is using them as goggles. The first fact was taken from one of Isayama's interviews.

Facts are underlined in the text. For me creating a non-binary character is the same as deciding not to tell us character's gender :)

Wait what are the five facts? The title says 5 facts so I expected a list.

One thing to be mentioned is that Isayama is not hiding Hange's gender, but they are non-binary. He once mentioned a song he said would describe Hange and the lyrics of the songs said "I'm neither a man or a woman. I can't be any". That makes us believe that Hange's gender is not a secret, they are simply non-binary or agender which is really awesome.
