Short Film Review: Brothers
A Tale of Two Brothers Who Must Make a Huge Choice.
Brothers short film review
Brothers is the short film today. It’s filmed, directed and shot by Scott Jaeger and was titled as a fantasy drama short film.
What is it about? It is a about prince Fendrick who has been ordered by his father to kill his own brother on the discovery that he is actually fathered by another man. It starts where Fendrick has taken his brother deep into the woods but cannot bring himself to kill him.
The good? The writing and dialogue is witty and flows well. The acting is fairly good. Choreography of the sword fight is not the best, but still pretty darn fun to watch. And the brothers have great chemistry.
The bad? Well there were parts where the soundtrack almost overrides the talking which can be annoying and there is more talking than action. Of course talking did explain their history together but it was kind of boring. And that’s the biggest crime here. The majority of this film are them telling one another stories about their childhood and other events as they grew up.
Overall, the film has good acting and dialogue but the story is very meh. It’s not that amazing of a film. It feels much more like a well-made first film for an indie film maker. You wouldn’t miss anything if you skipped it.
Overall rating: Tale of Two brothers who must make a huge choice.
1 flick out of four.
