Should more Americans listen to Sabaton?

This is me and most of the band. I was so star struck I couldn't do anything.

  • What's Sabaton? They are a heavy metal band from Sweden who sing about different events or people from history. Such as Audie Murphy, one of the most highly decorated officers of World War II (WWII), or the Night Witches, which were women pilots from Russia who went out and bombed.
  • Is Sabaton new? Nope, they have been touring in Europe for 15 years now, but they only started coming to the USA in the past couple of years.
  • Fun Facts! Sabaton is the 2nd band from Sweden to ever have one of their albums go Platinum.
  • Fun Facts! They have their own cruise in Europe. Yes, complete Heavy Metal Music ship that sails around.
  • Fun Facts! Sabaton also has their own music festival in Europe where fans can go camp and have fun while Sabaton preforms for a couple days.
  • My experience with Sabaton. I found them on youtube by accident while looking up the music from the game "Panzer General". When I first heard them I was blown way. Their lyrics are sheer poetry and the music goes hand-in-hand with it, I just couldn't stop listening to them. When I found out they were coming to my area on their tour of America I couldn't believe, I got tickets and a meet and greet and went. Now I have never left my cozy little town for something like this before so this was a huge deal to me, and I've got to say I was happy I did. When I met the band only four out of the five were available, because the theater we went to had put the meet and greet in the bar, and most of us waiting in line were pissed, because we were under 21 (I was 20 at the time), so the band did something amazing, they brought out all of their posters and handed them out to the fans while taking pictures and talking with them. I only got to talk to Par, the base guitar, but it was something to remember, because he talked to me like human and he talked about how cold it was and how it was like Sweden. It may be a fan girl moment, but I had never met a celebrity before that smiled at their fans like that.
  • Take a listen! You are old enough to decide if Sabaton is something you like or not, but please listen to a song of theirs before dismissing them.

Did you know of Audie Murphy or the Night Witches before this?

I haven't seen them in person. However, I have heard a lot of their music on CD. I am sure seeing them live would be lots better.

I met them on their first tour to america when they opened for Accept....It was when all the originals were still in the band. The originals were great but I have to say that the guys that's been with them for the last 3 years are amazing guys. I love Sabaton and will forever be a fan.

I actually saw a video from the US from years ago. It was before a show and Sabaton had their playlist written for the show. A fan had some up and asked them if they would play "Screaming Eagles" since he had been in the 101st. Not only did they change their playlist for him, they invited him to hang out and have a few beers after the show. One reason I love them is because they put the fans first.
