The Symptoms Of Verbal Diarrhoea

Verbal Diarrhoea is on the increase today, its becoming an epidemic as many people suffer from this syndrome, many of us have came into contact with such people in our lives who are suffering from this terrible condition.

The sufferer is colloquially known as a "Rent-a-mouth" or a "Motor Mouth" though there are a number of such terms for them, known of which can be written here on HP as it would cause a lot of problems with censorship etc...

1 - There is a uncontrollable urge for the sufferer to continuously say verbs

2- They have a chronic urge to write a book rather than explain something in a sentence

3- They cannot control their random thoughts and have to share them with everyone

4 - They speak their mind tactlessly causing a chain reaction and making people either laugh or cry after being unfairly told something they did not want to hear.

5 - Sometimes in really chronic cases the suffer may speak nothing but BS uncontrollably.

6 - They may talk too much, and input nothing but bigotry and ignorance, whilst thinking that they are legends for inputting something into a conversation.

With more advanced cases the sufferer may also show such symptoms as -

1 - Using fancy words to describe a simple message or using Jargon

2 - Having very few or no friends

3 - Discussing irrelevant topics

4 - Not having a life and is very miserable

These are but a few of the many symptoms associated with the condition however these are termed the main symptoms, so when your about on the forums or on facebook etc you may be able to identify a sufferer instantly with the knowledge gained from this hub..

Top 5 Treatments For Verbal Diarrhoea

Unfortunately there is no cure to Verbal Diarrhoea Syndrome but there are a few ways to suppress the symptoms, here are my top 5 treatments....

1 - You could slap the sufferer across the face a few times

2 - You may consider pushing them under a bus, however I would avoid this one as it may be a bit drastic.

3 - Encourage them to join facebook and get a life.

4 - Taping the sufferers mouth shut so that he/she cannot annoy you any more.

5 - Limit their babbling to one sentence per day..

These symptoms have been known to work and are generally good at suppressing the vast number of symptoms to the condition.

I hope that you have enjoyed this hub and do look forward to hearing how you have aided some one with this condition :)

Great hub, Cal! Maybe there could be a special ambulance to transport these folks to the hospital for emergency surgery to stitch closed their mouths. Just a thought!

      Hi poohgranma

I am so glad you enjoyed this hub, I like your advice "But a word of caution in the remedies you suggest. If you tape the mouth shut there may be spewing of bottled up wordage from any areas not fully covered or around the edges of the tape." It had to be repeated, I love it lol :) We are as bad as each other hahahah :) x

Oh my! Not only do I know of a few cases, I may have caught this myself! I do it when I write too - the run ons, you know.

But a word of caution in the remedies you suggest. If you tape the mouth shut there may be spewing of bottled up wordage from any areas not fully covered or around the edges of the tape.

Also, if one must resort to pushing the poor bugger under a bus, they should be clearly tagged, as any other with a highly contagious disease, so that medical personal and rescue workers are sure to have their protective ear plugs in place when coming into contact!

Great write. Went so good with my morning coffee!
