Stars Who Have and Haven't Made it Past Heartthrob Status

Updated on August 28, 2013

On Friday April 20, 2012 the film The Lucky One hit theathers staring Zac Efron. I have tons of previews and time Zac Efron makes my heart beat a little faster, but that has got me thinking. Can Zac Efron survive the heartthrob status to keep a successful career going? Efron had previous work before the trilogy that would make him a household name. I remember when High School Musical first aired on Disney Channel. They made a whole weekend out of it. I watched it all three times that weekend. I was hooked at the age of 20. By far I think he is the only High School Musical actor who is still being talking about. His costar Vanessa Hudgens still sees some limelight but since she is no longer dating Zac Efron it is not as much as it was. Can Zac overcome the teenage heartthrob and grab the hearts of older women to stay going? Actors that I loved with I was teenager you barely see them anymore and a couple are huge celebrities now.

Couldn't Over Come

Freddie Prinze Jr was a heartthrob of my teen years. He is known for She's All That, Down to You, Head Over Heels, Boys and Girls, Summer Catch, I know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and course both Scooby Doo movies. Mostly after Scooby Doo Freddie did voice-overs and television shows.

Shane West

Started on Television shows and made a movie stint. He is known for Whatever It Takes, Get Over It, Dracula 2000, A Walk to Remember, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Echelon Conspiracy. When it came to movies Shane didn't have what it took to keep on going. As for television he is still rocking that and as long as there is television shows I think he will do fine. From 2004 -2009 He played Dr. Ray Barnett on ER. Currently he is playing Michael on Nikita.

Josh Hartnett

For Josh he is still trying to come on top. He just needs to stop while I can still remember him for the good movies he did. Josh is known for Halloween H2O, The Faculty, The Virgin Suicides, Here on Earth, Pearl Harbor, O, Black Hawk Down, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Hollywood Homicide, Wicker Park, and Lucky Number Slevin. Josh is still acting, but he is not in the spotlight.

Over Came

Leonardo DiCaprio

First saw him on the television show Growing Pains he had done work before this. From Growing Pains he started to put more movies under his belt and has yet to stop. I am 26 still loving Leo and my mom who is 48 loves him as well. Inception threw us for a loop we had to rewind and watch again, but we loved it.

Paul Walker

I feel the Fast & Furious series is what has kept him on top. Yes he is a good actor and great to look at. I just feel if this hadn't of fallen into his lap it would have been done a long time ago. Other movies he is known for is Meet the Deedles, Varsity Blues, She's All That, The Skulls, Joy Ride, Timeline, Into the Blue, and Takers.

I can't really think of to many actors, but if anyone can think of any please let me know.

Zac Efron is not only handsome but also incredibly talented . I think he's got what it takes. I also think Josh Hartnett has a good future ahead of him. And Leo DeCaprio? He's here for the duration! Back in my day Robert Redford and Paul Newman were heart throbs...and they both have endured. So nice to think about all these gorgeous, talented guys...thanks for this one. It made my day!

I definitely think Zac Efron can win the hearts of older women. I know someone 46 who has him on her elevator list and he seems to just be getting better with age. Another person that should be on your list is Joshua Jackson. He has come a long way from his Mighty Ducks days.
