Film Synopsis
This film is pretty straight-forward storytelling of U.S. Airways Flight #1549, where a dual engine failure at 2800 ft., caused by birds caught inside the engines, forced the Pilot to make a water landing into the Hudson River, on January 15, 2009. The City of New York rescued all 155 people from the River within 24 minutes.
The film’s opening sequence was a great special visual effect. With this type of film, the cutting together of different timelines kept the intensity going. The Movie Viewer already knows the story’s outcome, so the only question was “What was the untold story?”
Based on the book Highest Duty, this screenplay was written with just the correct amount of humor to offset the seriousness of the plane’s historical significance.
