Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains - Cirie Fields

Updated on February 12, 2010

Panama

Cirie Fields is a very likable past Survivor Contestant.  She's one of the few that is in the game now for the third time, and despite her success in the game, she has never actually made it to the coveted final tribal council as anything but a juror.  Her first foray into the game was with Survivor: Panama where she was placed on the team with the older women.  Targeted right away for her lack of physical ability, Cirie skated by on luck and a social skills alone.  Later in the game, she was able to make the right alliances.  She came so close to being in the final two, but what it came down to for her was a fire making challenge against Danielle when the vote was 2 against 2.  Cirie lost the fire challenge and ended up on the jury instead of in the final 2.

Micronesia

Her second chance at the crown was during one of the most popular and fun seasons of Survivor history - Fans vs. Favorites in Micronesia.  In this second season, Cirie proved herself as one of the most valuable strategic players in the game.  Often ignored due to her obvious lack of physical power in challenges, she is able to keep her game to a mostly social and strategic game.

On the outside, Cirie often seems to be the tribe "mama".  She's easy to talk to, easy to get along with, and she's kind of a mother hen.  At the same time, however, she's not annoyingly in everyone's business.  She just slowly becomes friends with everyone and sits back to watch how others are interacting.  She's definitely a watcher, changing her game as she goes and watching to see who is pairing off or who is talking privately.

In his cast assessment for Heroes vs. Villains, Jeff Probst said that "If Cirie can make it through the first five or six episodes, she might be a threat to win the whole thing."  I absolutely think he's right, but the question is whether the other people playing with her will recognize that and target her early.

Automatic Alliances

If you look at the people who have played together before, Cirie could be a serious threat if she becomes allies with some of the other tribe members she already knows and has played with in the past.  If she aligns with Amanda and James (and eventually Parvati if they make it to the merge), then the force we all watched with awe in Micronesia could be back to dominate the game once again.

You have to wonder how Cirie sees Amanda at this point.  After Amanda chose Parvati for the final two over Cirie, it's possible that Cirie will target Amanda right away.  On the other hand, it's possible that she will leave the past in the past and befriend Amanda to start a powerful alliance that has worked for them in the past.  Only time will tell just how far Cirie can go in the game this third time around.
