The Monarchy get their their hands on million of acres of land, which belongs to the countries they govern; the land becomes the property of the Emperor or country's leader. Here is a list of the largest land owners in the world.

10. Letsie III, the King of Lesotho's

Letsie III, - (born David Mohato Bereng Seeiso; 17 July 1963), holds 3,034,948 hectares of Lesotho, including the country's diamond mines. King Letsie is in his second term being the Monarch of Lesotho, as in the past has been replaced by his father while in exile, then one year later, he rose again to the throne after his father died.

Owns 3,884,982 acres of fertile agricultural land and unique in the kingdom of Bhutan. Former student at Philips Andover Academy, he became king on 14 December 2006, and was officially crowned on 1 November 2008 and became the force behind the rebirth of democracy in Bhutan.

      Well, the queen doesn't really count. She doesn't technically own the land. She can't sell it.
