T.V. Series Recommendation!

Opening Theme Song!

The 10th Kingdom

This television series first aired in 2000. It’s a combination of faerie tales and real life. That alone probably made it sound very cheesy, but that’s the best way I can describe it. It’s a genuine work of art with a stellar cast. I have seen similar T.V. series of this particular subject, but they’ve never intrigued me as much as this one has. It may seem ridiculous at first, but it begins to make more sense as you watch it. It raises many questions almost instantly. It is also very inspiring as a fantasy writer. In the faerie tale aspect it seems very feasible and sticks to the well-known fables we fell in love with in our childhood. It also adds even more flavor and realism to make it easier to relate to the story.

It wouldn’t surprise me if not many of you haven't seen this. It was a rare gem and I for one didn’t see it until 2004 when it was recommended to me by a friend who let me borrow her DVD. I watched almost the entire series in two days. The near ending of the DVD my friend let me borrow was scratched making unable to view. It only lasted one season, but I purchased it online right away to finish the rest while it was still fresh in my mind.

As a writer, if you wanted to use a similar idea for a story, it’d be an immaculate challenge, but exciting nonetheless. Writing an original piece of art such as this is not easy. Rowling, Tolkien, Maguire, and Lewis just to name a few make it appear effortless.

Please check out the 10th Kingdom series. It’s definitely worth the purchase.
