Rahul is a TV addict who can never get enough of good shows. His all-time favorites are 'The Wire', 'Breaking Bad', and 'The Sopranos.'

Werewolves, vampires, wolf hunters, and other outwordly creatures – the world of Teen Wolf is full of these ghastly creatures. While you definitely don’t want to be anywhere near them, it sure as hell is addicting to watch them wreak havoc in the city. When a teen is bitten by one of the werewolves, his life turns upside down. With his new powers come new dangers that he must face.

While you wait for another season to air, let’s take a look at some other TV shows like Teen Wolf to keep you occupied till then -

The Vampire Diaries – One of the most popular TV shows like Teen Wolf

The plot revolves around two vampire brothers and a mortal girl, who finds herself torn between these two sexy hulks. It begins like a cheesy soap opera, but somewhere in the middle, it picks up the pace. Watch past the first few episodes, and you won’t be disappointed.

The only problem with TVD is its too many sub-plots. There is always a lot going on, which can overwhelm a casual viewer. Even if you’re an ardent fan, you can get lost in figuring out who lived, who died, and who was brought back to life. As ridiculous as the plot may sound, The Vampire Diaries is a pretty fun show to kill some time. There is nothing you haven’t seen before. Still, you don’t wanna miss out on all the nail-biting drama.

The Originals

I’ve always said it, and I’d say again “The Originals is miles better than The Vampire Dairies”. Don’t make the mistake of writing it off as a mere TVD spin-off. Yes, it started off as a spin-off. Since then, however, it has managed to amass its own dedicated fanbase. For those who love the gory part of The Vampire Diaries, but find the cheesiness hard to swallow, “The Originals” should be your new favorite. Give it a go. The first 3 seasons are pretty fascinating. Here is hoping for another stellar season!

Pretty Little Liars - A popular show like Teen Wolf

Pretty Little Liars’ is about four friends, who’ve grown apart after one of their friends was killed. When they start receiving the same texts from her dead friend, they come together to stop her from spilling their darkest secrets.

These secrets are bigger than you might think. Plot only thickens as soon as some of those secrets begin to come out. I’m not going to spoil what they really are. Believe me; you want to watch those heinous deeds first hand.

It’s pretty difficult to care about any character in the beginning. As the season 1 progresses, though, you’d find that most of them are just misunderstood. They were just at the wrong place at a wrong time. As they try to sort out their personal messes, they also try to figure out who’s sending them those threatening messages? It can be her dead friend, or can it?

With tons of twists along the way, Pretty Little Liars will do a pretty good job of keeping you hooked. If you’re looking for some good TV shows like Teen Wolf, give it a shot.

Being Human – An underrated TV show like Teen Wolf

What happens when a vampire, warewolf and a ghost live under the same roof? You can expect a lot of misadventures and quite hilarious scenarios. The tone can, however, shift in a matter of seconds. It can transform from being funny to a gut-wrenching scene, making your stomach turn.

While the show doesn’t have a lot of high-budget action-sequences, it more than makes up for it with its to the point plot and some authenticating acting. You can’t help but feel for those otherworldly creatures as they try to survive in a hopeless world. I can’t believe how criminally underrated this show is. Give it a shot. If you love TV shows like Teen Wolf, you’re going to love what “Being Human’ has to offer. With just five short seasons to churn through, it shouldn’t take a lot of your time.

Hemlock Grove - An underrated TV show like Teen Wolf

When a teenage girl gets brutally murdered, the hunt for her killer begins. In a suspicious town where everyone has their own secrets, will they be able to find out anything?

Although Vampire and werewolves aren’t new to entertainment industry, Hemlock Grove finds a new way to introduce us to a scary, unknown world. With a mix of some sci-fi and European legends, and pretty solid production values, this show should be right along with other TV shows like Teen Wolf that you’re planning on giving a shot.

Don’t pay attention to the negativity around the show. I could never figure out what people didn’t like about it. Yes, it’s not like The Vampire Diaries or Buffy; The Vampire Slayer. It’s more mature than those two shows. It’s a shame that it had to be cancelled that early in its run. Nevertheless, you still have a couple of amazing seasons to binge-watch.

Game Of Thrones:One of the best shows ever

There is a reason why everyone around you keeps taking about Game Of Thrones. Given the number of times it gets mentioned online and offline, you might be forgiven for believing that it’s overhyped. Believe me; you’d churn out one episode after another as soon as you boot the pilot.

Based on the book of the same name by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones tells the story of kingdoms in the fictional land of Westeros, a land where no one is to be trusted. In the bloody and brutal race to get to rule the whole world, these families often entangle with each other while a grave danger awaits them beyond the sacred walls. Can they sort their matters out before the army of evil overpowers the humanity?

That’s as far as I’m going to tell you about the story. You’re better off witnessing the brutal murders, backstabbings, stake-raising drama, and some unbelievable cinematography by yourself. It’s just like watching a 10 hour engrossing movie with no frills.

Unlike anything on TV, though, it can get pretty somber at times. Your favorite characters will find themselves in precarious situations. And more often than not, they’d not escape unscathed. The writers kill off anyone whenever they want for the shock value. With no permanent heroes or villains, things always stay refreshing, making for some fascinating hours of TV.

If you’re looking for some gritty shows like Teen Wolf, “Game Of Thrones” should be your best bet.

Supernatural - A popular series like Teen Wolf

Supernatural is all about two handsome lads hunting all kinds of demons, vampires, ghosts, warewolves and every other outworldy creature there is. Over the course of 11 seasons, they have done almost everything you’d expect a superhero to do, except that they have died too many times. Somehow, though, they always manage to come back to life. These brothers are two resistant to stay dead. While knowing that your favorite characters are kind of immortal kills all the unpredictability and thrill, one can’t deny that “Supernatural” is tons of fun despite all its shortcomings.

The first 5 seasons are totally amazing to watch. After that, however, this series goes a bit downhill. Thankfully, the last few seasons have been good, again. The writers have come to their senses, realizing what made this show addicting in the first place.

If you haven’t started watching it yet, you’ve a lot of catch up to.

True Blood

True Blood is a whole different beast in the world of supernatural TV shows like Teen Wolf. With deep pockets of HBO and freedom that comes along with it, you can expect a lot of nail-biting drama, sex and violence.

The plot revolves around, SookieStahouse, who can hear what others are thinking. That’s one of the reasons why she’s still single. When she meets a vampire named Bill, she falls for him, opening a door for a whole a lot of trouble.

Those who criticize it for being too graphic don’t get the point of this show at all. It was never meant to be taken seriously. It’s supposed to be a fun, light-hearted TV show that will entertain you for an hour every week. The first few episodes might leave you feeling conflicted. Don’t give up on it, though. It get better later on. If you are a fan of some passionate vampire romance, you’re going to love what True Blood has in store.

Buffy: The Vampire Slayer

When a young girl finds out that she is destined to slay vampires and demons, she with her friends, embark on a journey that brings them closer than ever. With the help of her friends, she fights all sorts of evil while dealing with her teenage problems at the same time.

Don’t let the title misguide you; there is a lot more to it than vampire slaying. With millions of fans spanned across the world, it still is one of the favorite shows of all time. Despite the contrary opinions, I believe that it deserves all the credit it gets. The storylines are always intriguing, keeping you guessing all the time. Similarly, the acting and cinematography never feels out of place. Of course, it can get cheesy at times with its romantic side-plots, but you’d learn to love it. It’s not that bad.

If you didn’t know already, vampire and demons are not the main focus of this show. It’s about Buffy’s journey from a naïve teenage girl to a legendary slayer, while dealing with heartbreaks, death, and other life issues.

If you didn’t get to watch the show back then, you can do it now. Netflix!

Angel - An underrated TV show like Teen Wolf

The plot revolves around a cursed vampire, who moves to Los Angeles in hope of redeeming himself, embarking upon a quest to help people with their outworldly problems.

What started off as a Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, transformed into much more than that over the course of its run. It is amazing to see how characters evolve over the few years. Wesley, for example, becomes a bad-ass from a mere side-kick.

It’s a shame that it got cancelled in its prime. Nevertheless, you still have 5 fascinating seasons of one of the best TV shows like Teen Wolf to watch.

Honorable mentions – Other shows like Teen Wolf

Once you’ve watched all the above shows, you should give “Awkward”, “Being Wolf on Campus’’, “Werewolf”, “She-Wolf of London’’, and “The Walking Dead” a shot. I’m sure you’d like most of my suggestions. Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments section.
