Taken Movie Review
Taken is about an ex-CIA agent called Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) who's daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) gets abducted by Albanian sex-traffickers whilst on a trip to Paris with her friend. Neeson uses his past experiences as a CIA agent to try and find her and her friend. Taken is directed by Pierre Morel, is written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. It also stars Kaite Cassidy, Famke Janssen and Holly Valance.
Neeson portrays a very macho, Jason Bourne/James Bond like character who wont stop until he finds his daughter. Bryan shows for most of the movie how he can karate chop someones windpipe whilst killing 2 others with a paperclip and a stick of gum (I exaggerate but only a little) using his skills he learnt in the CIA. I feel that the action sequences were done very well and one of my favourite scenes is one where he takes out a whole house of men. I feel that the action did go by a bit to fast but is still very satisfying. I think that Neeson is the best part of the movie because he is the only character you care about and can relate with. His motivation is very clear, however I think that some of the parts of this movie are extremely unrealistic and far-fetched.
'Taken' will have you on the edge of your seat from the start to the finnish and it is one of my favourite films and also has my favourite quote from any movie, 'I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you'.
