The CW Network's The 100 tells a futuristic tale of the 100, the teens on the future spacecraft the Arc after a nuclear apocalypse strikes hundreds of year prior. The series goes on to tell the story of Clarke Griffin and Bellamy Blake, two of the 100 that where dropped down to Earth to test radiation levels. After years of war with the survivors of the first nuclear apocalypse and new human encounters, Skaikru (the 100 and the other members of the Arc) abandon Earth after a third nuclear encounter. Season 6 started with Skaikru landing on a new planet and meeting a new society, Sanctum. While Sanctum seems all peaceful, the dark truths lie within the Primes-- the royal bloodline of Sanctum. The season 6 finale teased a new idea, a glowing green whirlpool-like light (the anomaly) that Octavia walks into.

The Final Moments

In the final few moments of the season, breaks through the anomaly, and an adult version of Diyoza's baby daughter, Hope, walks out. Hope warns Octavia that "he has Diyoza,". Hope proceeds to stab Octavia, and we see Bellamy holding dying Octavia in his arms. Bellamy is shocked when Octavia disintegrates into nothing-- and he is left with nothing but a broken heart. Of course, this leaves us with nothing but confusion. Is Octavia dead? Where is Diyoza? Who is 'He'? It seems like Jason Rothenberg might be dipping his toes into some magic with this anomaly. Will we see a new aspect of magic coming into the show?

The Trailer and More

The trailer for the seventh and final season only complicates it more, teasing footage of the Russel Prime, who Clarke spared before killing the other Primes in the previous season. Octavia and Diyoza also appear in the trailer, which beckons the question, "are they really dead?" We see some new characters as well, Nikki, who looks like a soldier for Sanctum.

One of the show's most common lines (that we hear in almost every season) is "We are the last of the human race"-- which has been proven wrong in every single season. In the season seven trailer, Clarke says this line again. In every other season, we have seen a new 'tribe' of humans, first is was the Grounders, the Mount Weather, the ALIE, Eliguis IV, and newly, Sanctum. So this only makes us think, could there possibly be any more humans? We have to take into consideration the anomaly, and how Diyoza's newborn daughter walked in, and came out a fully grown woman. Could there be more humans inside of the anomaly?

Will There Be a Spin-off?

Jason Rothenburg teased plans for a new spin-off series, which is supposed to air on CW in either 2021 or 2022. Fans speculated that it could be called 'Anaconda', but Rothenburg shut down the theory, leaving fans with barely any information on the series. What we do know is that the series will be set 97 years prior to the first events on the Arc, and will follow a group of people who survived the nuclear apocalypse. Fans also believe that this series could follow Becca, the first commander and creator of ALIE and Sanctum.

If one thing is for sure, we know that seventh and final season will be jam-packed with action. The show's producer, Jason Rothenberg tells Entertainment Weekly that "It's our version of a happy ending"-- which could mean anything from the final death of the human race, or peace between what's left of it. The seventh season will premiere on May 20, on the CW Network, 8pm EST.
