The 15 Most Beautiful Blonde Actresses: Round 5
Once again I am pleased to return with another group of dazzling women guaranteed to set your heartbeat racing. These actresses, ravishing beauties one and all, range from well-known icons to rising stars and ingenues. Whether portraying innocent damsels imperiled at the hands of a villain or heroines determined to complete some daring mission against all odds, these women bring a magical presence to the screen that captivates and enthralls those fortunate enough to bear witness to their craft.
In this installment of my "most beautiful blond actress" series, I have included a couple of actresses that people have been asking about and, in fact, demanding an appearance by. Scarlett Johansson and Cameron Diaz have both garnered a lot of support from my readers and I am pleased to include these two wonderful actresses in this edition. Along with these popular requests, I have included a great assortment of beauties who can easily hold their own in any competition as I am sure you will agree.
Speaking of competition, I always try to take a look back at the round when compiling a new round. In this case, a review of Round 4 shows that though Sarah Roemer got off to an early lead, she has not managed to maintain that lead. Blake Lively slowly chipped away at the lead until taking over the top spot and has now kept a small but consistent lead for quite some time. Meanwhile, the highly volatile poll in Round 2 remains unsettled with Kristen Bell gaining ground slightly to now be tied with Amber Heard at 18% while former contender Hayden Pannettierre has dropped back to 12%.
Gemma Ward began her career as a fashion model but it wasn't long before she found herself in demand as an actress as well. Born November 3, 1987, in Perth, Western Australia, Gemma made her modeling debut at age 15 in 2003. She soon found herself gracing the covers of magazines such as Vogue and even the news magazine Time. By July 2007, she was listed as the tenth highest paid supermodel by Forbes magazine.
Gemma made her film debut in 2008 with the award-winning Australian film The Black Balloon for which she was nominated for both an Inside Film Best Actress Award and a Film Critics Circle of Australia Award for Best Actress. American first saw her as the appropriately named Dollface in the thriller The Strangers though her doll face was frustratingly masked in the film. She has since appeared in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film and is set to return to her role of Dollface in The Strangers sequel. Though she has reportedly retired from modeling, we will hopefully see more and more of beautiful Gemma on screens large and small very soon.
Though she appeared in films such as The Secret Life of Girls and Spy Kids 2 long before ever walking onto the set of the Hannah Montana television series, there is no doubt that Emily Osment is best known for her role as Miley/Hannah's best friend, Lilly Truscott (aka Lola Luftnagle). After four seasons on the show, Emily has moved on to other projects and currently is devoting a lot of time to her music career. Since she is loaded with talent, good looks and charisma, we are sure to see plenty of Emily in the years to come. With any luck, she will find more success on television, the big screen and in the music industry. After all, can we ever really get enough of this beautiful young woman?
Susan George was a very well-known actress during the 60s, 70s and 80s, often portraying seductive sexpots and even and once playing one of the many blondes preferred by Dracula. parts in films such as Die Screaming, Marianne and Fright also garnered her a reputation as a scintillating scream queen, but it was breakthrough roles in movies such as Straw Dogs opposite Dustin Hoffman and Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry where her Mary was matched by Peter Fonda's Larry that introduced her to true stardom.
In her later years she has semi-retired from acting to raise and breed Arabian horses, but she does make an occasional appearance now and then in film or on television. As you can see in the photo to the right, she is still lovely with those large, sparkling eyes as mesmerizing as ever! Hopefully we will see more of Susan George in the years to come. She certainly has plenty of fans more than ready for her return!
As Julie Taylor on the hit series Friday Night Lights, Aimee Teegarden became a very familiar face in America. She has since gone on to major motion picture roles in films such as Scream 4 and Prom. She also starred in Beneath the Darkness which featured Dennis Quaid as an insane mortician in small town Texas. The film should have been a classic but somehow managed to fizzle due to a mediocre script and lackluster direction. Oh well, everybody gets stuck with a dud now and then.
Fortunately, this clunker does not seem to have slowed down Aimee. The gorgeous actress is reportedly to star in the film Life at These Speeds along with the equally beautiful AnnaSophia Robb who currently stars in the new television series The Carrie Diaries. In addition to her acting gig, Aimee has had a successful modeling career, working with everyone from Alltel to Old Navy and Tommy Hilfiger.
Candice Arcola is one of the sexiest of the new wave of young vampires, playing the role of Caroline Forbes on the hit series The Vampire Diaries. She has appeared in films such as Juno and On the Doll as well as guest-starring on shows such as Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother. Candice is also an accomplished singer and songwriter and is active in charities such as the It Get Better Project which seeks to reduce suicide in the LGBT community.
For fans of the supernatural fairytale-infused series Grimm, Claire Coffee is no stranger. Her character on the show, Adelind Schade, has been causing no end of trouble for the show's protagonist, Nick Burkhardt (played by David Giuntoli). But unlike her character, Claire does not seem to have an ugly side. Still, this bewitching blue-eyed blond beauty does seem quite capable of casting a spell on the many fans who tune into the show each week.
Back when I made my first list of beautiful blond actresses, I immediately began receiving messages and comments asking why I did not include Scarlett Johansson. Well, all I can say is these lists really come down to one man's opinion and while I definitely believe Scarlett is a gorgeous woman, she just did not make the first cut for me. In a way, I am glad that so many people have a difference of opinion as to who belongs on these lists as it keeps them interesting as we continue along. While hopefully by now I have listed several of your favorites, there are probably still some beautiful blondes that everyone is waiting to see.
Scarlett began her acting career in the 1994 Rob Reiner film North, but it was her amazing performance in 1998's The Horse Whisperer that first gained her widespread attention. From that point on her career really took off bringing her roles in films such as The Man Who Wasn't There, Lost In Translation, The Black Dahlia and The Avengers. I will admit that I was one of those comic book geeks who thought she was a poor choice to portray Russian super-spy Black Widow in the Marvel films series that centers around Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but I will also admit to being pleasantly surprised by her outstanding performance.
Born January 24, 1986, in Hammersmith, West London, Mischa Barton moved to New York at the age of 6 and became a United States citizen shortly after her 20th birthday while also retaining her British citizenship. Mischa likes to be known as "an English-Irish girl who grew up in New York," showing pride in both her homeland and her heritage. The English comes from her father while the Irish comes from her mother. Looking at gorgeous Mischa it is obviously a fine combination.
Mischa began acting on stage, in films and on television in the mid-1990s but it was her role as Marissa Cooper on the popular series The O.C. from 2003 until 2006 that really brought her into the spotlight. Mischa has had some personal problems in the past couple of years including a driving under the influence charge and an involuntary commitment to a mental institution, but she is poised for a major comeback with a half dozen high profile films in the works including the horror flicks Apartment 1303 3D which is an adaption of the Japanese film by Ataru Oikawa and The Sibling which is one of the last films to feature the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
Cameron Diaz is another beautiful blonde that many people felt should have made my list much sooner, and frankly, it is hard to argue with that point of view. Cameron's blue eyes and blond hair has become her trademark, though if we are really being honest it is a fairly well-known fact that she is not a natural blonde. Still, she has rarely appeared with her hair any other shade so she has certainly earned her spot on the list.
Cameron made her film debut in The Mask with Jim Carrey in 1994 after a few years as a successful model. Her comedic timing and carefree attitude has made her an instant star and she was soon churning out stellar performances in films such as The Sweetest Thing, There's Something About Mary and Vanilla Sky. She brings her unique energy to her roles along with her stunning good looks, stealing the shoe time and time again.
Britt Ekland was born October 6, 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden. She made her film debut with a small part in the Elvis Presley film G.I. Blues in 1960. She is probably best known for her role as a "Bond girl" in the 1974 spy flick The Man with the Golden Gun. A year later she provided sexy whispers for her then boyfriend Rod Stewart's hit single "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)." Though she has not appeared in feature films since 1990, Britt has continued acting on the stage and occasionally on television.
Britt has been married twice in the past. Her first husband was actor Peter Sellers, known for playing Chief Inspector Clouseau in The Pink Panther film and its sequels among many other roles. That marriage lasted from 1964 until 1968. She married her second husband in 1984. He was Slim Jim Phantom, drummer for the Stray Cats and twenty years younger than Britt. That union lasted until 1992. Britt, now 70 years old, still hangs out with a rock 'n' roll crowd including her good friends Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne.
Kristin Booth is a prolific actress who has amassed over 60 titles on her resumé in her 15 year long career. Her works include films such as Foolproof (with Ryan Reynolds), Kaw (with Sean Patrick Flanery) and Defendor (with Woody Harrelson) as well as recurring characters on television series such as Paradise Falls, ReGenesis, The Newsroom and M.V.P. Born August 28, 1974, this Canadian beauty has made a name for herself as a solid and respected actress even if she has yet to become a household name. Her talent and beauty has brought her a legion of dedicated fans who patiently wait for the world to discover what they already know -- Kristen Booth is hot in every sense of the word!
Amanda Wyss is probably best remembered as Tina in the horror classic A Nightmare On Elm Street though many will also recall her as Beth in the side-splitting John Cusack comedy Better Off Dead. Amanda actually had a rather prolific film career in the 1980s including such memorable movies as To Die For, Powwow Highway, Fast Times At Ridgemont High and Silverado (the movie many credit with returning westerns to the mainstream). She has since starred in many feature films, television movies and TV series. In recent years she has been less active in the film industry though no less lovely in life. Amanda was born and raised in California which seems fitting as she definitely has that "California girl" look from her golden blond hair right down to her eternally youthful glow.
Though Sara Paxton began acting in the mid-1990s, she really began to be noticed in 2004 after landing the role of Darcy Fields in the series Darcy's Wild Life. She has gone on to numerous television and film roles including the films Sydney White, The Innkeepers, and the remake of The Last House On The Left and guest spots on TV shows such as Wizards of Waverly Place. She has also landed the role of Audra Barkley in The Big Valley movie taking on the character popularized by Linda Evans in the original television series. Unfortunately, the movie version has been held up by legal disputes, but hopefully we will soon get to see Sara in this exciting role.
Olivia D'Abo was born January 22, 1969, in London to model/actress Maggie London and singer Mike D'Abo, best known as the lead singer of Manfred Mann. Her first film role was as Princess Jehnna in Conan the Destroyer, but she first gained real notoriety a couple of months later when she appeared topless in Bolero at the age of 15. The controversy did not do any damage to her career, however, as she was soon starring in films and television shows on a regular basis. In 1988, she landed the role of Karen Arnold on the popular series, The Wonder Years.
Olivia went on to star in dozens of films and numerous television shows, both guest starring and in recurring roles. She has also become a very much in-demand voice artist. Her continued success is a testament to her beauty, talent and dedication to craft. With new films already on the horizon, we are sure to be seeing a lot more of Olivia on both the small and the big screen.
Ari Graynor made her on-screen acting debut as Caitlin Rucker on the HBO series The Sopranos and has a been a busy, in-demand actress ever since. From guest appearances on shows such as CSI: Miami and Veronica Mars to big screen films like Whip It and The Sitter, Ari has appeared in more than two dozen productions since 2001. Beginning November 14, 2012, Ari will appear on Broadway in The Performers, a new play by David West Read that also stars Cheyenne Jackson, Henry "The Fonz" Winkler and Alicia Silverstone..
