The Best & Funniest Clips of Monk

All About Monk - Why Monk?

I took to a show a while ago that I thought was entertaining to say the least. This show, "Monk" was incredibly witty, quirky and captivating. The whole series is about the main character, Adrian Monk (played by Tony Shalhoub) who is an exceptional homicide detective who mystifies everyone with his incredible skills.

It sounds like the set-up for a depressing show, but it's really not. His eccentric mannerisms and behaviors (he has 312 phobias; germs, dentists, sharp objects, milk, crowds, snakes, and heights to name a few) that keep you on your toes as you solve crimes and murder cases.

Monk is scared of heights, along with lots of other things.

It's a Gift. And a Curse.

Monk's phobias usually end up helping him along in cases, as he notices things that most people do not. His need to tidy up and have order in the midst of chaos is just one way that Monk solves crimes.

Throughout all these clips, you'll see Mr. Monk's phobias come alive as things go wrong. His tendency to worry and focus on tiny details is just one of the many ongoing issues that you see over and over in this television series.

Monk's Square Tomato

Monk loves symmetry. He loves organization, and perfect sized objects. He can only eat meals or gourmet foods if he can watch them be prepared or prepare them himself. In this episode, he finds they've been working on a square tomato which he sees as the best invention ever.

Monk's Blood Test

Monk gets a little restless at the doctor and starts to clean. Of course everything needs to be neat and orderly, so he goes a little overboard. You'll see.

Know Someone Who Loves Monk?

If you know someone who loves Monk, a friend or family member, then there are lots of unique gifts you can give them. Whether it's a birthday gift or Christmas gift, here's what you can do!

Create a movie gift basket. First, you'll need to purchase a few seasons of Monk to get them started, and put it in a large popcorn tub. From there, add in some of their favorite candy, along with some popcorn and soda and situate it with some tissue paper or shredded paper. Whatever you have handy!

Complete with a card, and you are all set! They'll love your thoughtfulness, and you can bet that they will be ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy some Monk!

Monk Takes a Big Step

Monk meets with his therapist and tells him of his big step, kind of. He's planning a big (2 night) trip for the first in a long time. Dr. Kroger is praising him for doing it all by himself, when Monk decides to invite his therapist to come with, relentlessly.

Monk Wins an Award

Now I'm being serious. Not only is he a great actor, but he's been recognized as so, on numerous accounts. He was nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" for eight consecutive years (2003-2010) and won this award in 2003, 2005, and 2006 as well. He also won a Golden Globe award for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy", in 2003.

Hi Pink; I enjoy this show. I didn't discover it until it went off the air but I've seen all the episodes since. It's a lot of fun. Tony Shalhoub was great in the role. He deserved his emmy.
