This is a fun, family movie that may disappoint martial arts fans hoping for death defying stunts; however, it has a lot more to offer. A mature and agile, Jackie Chan (remember the man is in his late 50s!)...

Quirky, bizarre and fascinating are the words that come to mind when one imagines any joint venture involving Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and Alice in Wonderland surely does not disappoint!
A Very Enjoyable Family Movie
I really enjoyed this movie based on the true story of football player Michael Oher who was taken in and mentored by a wealthy couple in Memphis when he was a homeless 16-year-old. Sandra Bullock does a very fine job of portraying a tough southern “mama”. Quinton Aaron is convincing and endearing as Michael Oher. The rest of the supporting cast is quite fine (Kathy Bates, Tim McGraw). Actual SEC coaches are featured interviewing Michael for college football placement.
This is a truly inspiring story of a family that practices what it preaches by opening their Christian home to a completely unknown young man in need. By welcoming Michael into their home and helping him to achieve his full potential, they surely changed the course of his life (as well as their own!) I’m sure they changed a few hearts and thoughts in their community, as well, and this movie is sure to inspire others to behave in a kind and charitable way.
This is a well-produced, well-acted, entertaining and enjoyable family movie. It would be a nice one to watch with the family at Thanksgiving or Christmas time.
I give it 4 stars. The only reason I don’t give it 5 is that, while it is a perfectly fine movie, it is not of the caliber of movies such as Glory, Empire of the Sun or Rescue Dawn. Still, it is an entirely different sort of movie, and one you are sure to enjoy!
