The Expendables Segundo

Updated on March 15, 2013

The Expendables II

The Expendables II, directed by Simon West, is a sequel to the movie the Expendables. The film stars Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. Premier action heroes of the past 40 years have roles in the movie. Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Jean Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris appear in the film.

The Expendables II is pure action entertainment from start to finish. There is humor throughout the film with inside jokes among the stars. The movie was shot in Hong Kong, New Orleans and Bulgaria. Old trucks, vintage aircraft, music from 1965 and antique locales give The Expendables II a unique feel.
However, the movie has over the top violence. There are more people killed in this film by guns, knives and bombs then in any movie I have ever seen. There is more killing in this movie then in the classic Sam Pechinpah film, The Wild Bunch (1969).

Movie violence is an escape from reality. The viewer watches a film knowing that violent scenes are not real. But there is a drawback to the onslaught of screen havoc. I had upsetting dreams. Nightmares filled with violence are terrifyingly real. It is 2:00 AM. Now that I have finished writing this Hubpage hopefully I will be able to sleep

Awfully short for a movie review. Needs more information and several pictures (place a great glossy picture at the very top so that is what will catch people's eyes when they are searching)would help as well. But you write well. :)
