Atsuko Maeda is More Than Just a Pop Music Singer

We might as well call this next article “The Interesting Life of Atsuko Maeda” because what you are about to read describes three major events that have nothing to do with her musical career however the other major event which happened in 2014 is about her music. But let’s go back in time to the year 2012 first. But before we do, let me say first that Atsuko Maeda ended up changing the Japanese pop music industry for the better and she is like a pop cultural icon.

Atsuko Maeda Also Known as "Acchan"

One Event in Atsuko Maeda's Life That Probably Changed Her As Well

Music fans in Japan now know that Atsuko Maeda is now a solo artist after leaving famous female pop music group AKB48. But what some may not remember are all the press and the attention that her graduation announcement from AKB48 got. It was revealed to be the biggest surprise in the history of AKB48. I really think she should have stayed in AKB48 for a few years more because 20 or 21 is a bit early for a girl like her to graduate.

Atsuko Maeda Traveled to Hong Kong

On March 26, 2012, Maeda took a trip to Hong Kong as part of the 40th anniversary of Japan-China friendly relations event in which the group participated in. Other AKB48 members at the time who took part in the event were Haruka Nakagawa. That was of course before she transferred to girl group JKT48.

On the night of March 26, Maeda took the stage and was greeted by a huge round of cheers. How exciting this kind of celebration was I am sure. There were three songs that were played that night in front of a crowd of 700 people including “Aitakatta.” There was also a handshake event that took place. Fans in Japan also expressed their feelings for Atsuko and she ended up getting 38,000 comments on her last post on her blog on March 23 2012.

Seventh Chord Is Maeda's 4th Solo Single

Now, this next event in Maeda's life does have to do with her music. On March 5, 2014, Atsuko Maeda (Acchan) released another solo single and this one is called Seventh Chord. However, Atsuko started to receive lots of publicity even before the release of the single. Seventh Chord is also the title of a movie that Atsuko stars in. The single is sometimes referred to as Seventh Code. There are four versions of the single that were released. These were Type A, Type B, Type C, and Special Edition.

Where Does the Video for This Song Take Place?

It was directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Seventh Chord takes place in Vladivostok, Russia. The song is kind of heavy so it is kind of like a pop rock hybrid song. The video also shows scenes from the movie itself as Maeda has to show that she can be tough against hooligans and thugs that try to attack her.

Atsuko Maeda Reveals Information About the Number of Pets She Has!

In the entertainment business, celebrities have a tendency to reveal personal details about their life. On November 1, 2014, actress, bikini model and former AKB48 center Atsuko Maeda addressed an audience during the talk show for Hada Labo Presents “Hada Uruoi Festa.” She revealed that she now has 14 pets. Maeda has 8 cats and 6 dogs. The pop singing beauty said that she feels comfortable being around her pets. In addition, she revealed that her mother is obsessed about cats so that number multiplies without her knowledge. She (Maeda) said that her pets get along with each other very well.

Atsuko Maeda Also Talks About Beauty Secrets

Maeda also talked about some of her beauty secrets with the audience. She said that since her skin is very dull, she uses what is called a beauty mask in the morning. Maeda says that other than this technique, she makes sure to wash her face very well. Especially when she is busy, the then 23 year-old award winning actress said that she feels better when she takes a half bath.
