Mayu Watanabe Does Voice Acting for An American Film

Mayu Watanabe, one of the cutest members of popular all-girl group AKB48 would end up doing voice acting for the American film “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters.”

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters Makes Its Debut

It would make its debut in theaters in Japan on November 1, 2013. This film is the sequel to “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” which came out in 2010. Watanabe’s role would be for that of the heroine Annabeth. She briefly made a statement that she will play the role to the best of her ability so as not bring shame upon its name. Watanabe was one of seven AKB48 members who created the menu for the AKB48 Café and Shop in the Akihabara District of Tokyo.

The Way That Mayu Watanabe Won This Hairstyle Award

So let’s get to the discussion about how Mayu Watanabe won a hairstyle award for long hair. It would be on September 3, 2014 that Watanabe would be in attendance at an award ceremony called “THE BEAUTY WEEK AWARD 2014” and of course, she was awarded a prize for the best long hair. As for the Beauty Week Award, it is given to celebrities whose hairstyle has attracted much attention. Watanabe who was 20 at the time was at the event with a very sophisticated black dress to go along with her beautiful long hair! This was the first time that Watanabe even got an award like this and she wondered whether she was good enough to receive an award like this. Watanabe also stated that she would like to go blonde.

Mayu Watanabe Gets Asked an Interesting Question

It was after the ceremony when she was asked by reporters when then AKB48 member Haruna Kojima was going to graduate. Watanabe responded by saying that she didn’t know when this was going to happen and that she was pretty nervous. Kojima born in 1988 was at that time the oldest member of AKB48 and it was predicted that she would be the next member to graduate from the group. But she had said many times that she would not graduate from the group. She had made this statement during the group’s yearly General Elections and on various radio shows. It was also at an event that former member Tomomi Itano expressed concerns about Haruna graduating. She mentioned that she really expected to witness a graduation like never before, as if it was coming out of the sky. Watanabe eventually graduated from AKB48 after the New Years Eve yearly singing contest called Kohaku Uta Gassen on December 31, 2017.

Mayu Watanabe Helped to Create a New Menu for the AKB48 Cafe and Shop

So what is the other interesting aspect of Mayu Watanabe’s career? Back in December 2012, Watanabe and 6 other AKB48 members had created a new menu for the AKB48 Café and Shop (well that’s when the story was first reported). An audience of 100 fortunate fans was able to try two of the food items. One of them was Mayu Watanabe’s mushroom and pork miso soup as well as Mariko Shinoda’s Curry Panda Plate.
