The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Updated on March 15, 2015

Unless you have been living off the grid for the last five years you have definitely heard of Twilight. The series of books written by Stephenie Meyer which have caught the teen romance reading world by storm.

The unlikely saga of romance which springs up between a high school girl named Bella and a Vampire named Edward. The twist in the tale is that this Vampire comes from a coven of Vegetarians.

Essentially they still drink blood to survive, but not human blood. They hunt animals and drink their blood to live. Unfortunately Bella's blood is what draws Edward's attention the most. He literally hungers for her blood.

That's not the only thing about Bella that makes her special to Edward. He is a gifted vampire in the sense that he can read the thoughts of everyone around him for a few miles. Unfortunately try as he might, he can't read a single thought in Bella's mind.

Naturally that makes her simply irresistible to him. Nothing sums up the dilemma better than the author's own words. As it says in the very first Twilight book , when they discover that they are irrevocably in love with each other.

"So the Lion fell in love with the Lamb"

"What a stupid lamb,"

"What a sick, masochistic lion."

Okay, as you can see I'm totally bowled over with the full series here. I always prefer to read the book rather than see the movie. My own imagination is so much better than what some director translates onto the screen. However after watching the remakes of the first three books, I can't wait for the fourth one to come out.

The Movies

Naturally the movies do not have all the details that the books contain, so it is a good idea to read the books before you see the movie or some parts will feel inexplicable. On the whole you can just watch the movie and get a good gist of the Twilight Saga as well.

I particularly enjoyed the scene where Edward is trying to convince Bella why he is the world's best predator and how dangerous he is to her. Then he admits his weakness for the scent of her blood.

"You're like a drug to me, my own personal brand of heroine"

Of course if you are as crazy about the whole Twilight Saga as I am you will be interested in the coat of arms of the Cullen Family. And all the cool jewelry that the Cullens wear with the symbol on it. Here is a look at the most popular pieces

Twilight "New Moon" Alice Choker Necklace
Twilight "New Moon" Alice Choker Necklace

The most alluring piece has to be the choker that Alice Cullen wears. it enhances her pixie like appearance and is so utterly feminine.

Okay, I think I am done here. I seem to have finally written the Twilight Saga out of my system.
