The Waltons

Updated on October 18, 2014

The Waltons TV Series | The Waltons DVD

I grew up with John Boy Walton and shared the entire series with my children. We love the special time together as we watch how a family works together through both good and bad times. This is such great TV.

My eldest daughter Jaimie (17) told me as I was creating this lens, that she feels like the "John Boy" of this family. Jaimie is a writer and an honor roll student. She can relate because she feels like she is setting an example for her younger siblings and she has a huge desire to get a scholarship for school. My Jaimie sure is a blessing.

The Waltons: The Complete Seasons 1-9

The Waltons - Family Values

What I love the most about the Waltons is that the family always comes together during hardship and always finds a way through. The most important thing is love.

Maybe today as we are going through an economic crisis we should all revisit an episode or two of The Waltons. Is it possible that this is a blessing in disguise? Is this a time for us to become close again.

You know, my Mom moved in with us over the summer and I am really feeling blessed to have her here. I think God gives us what we need. I choose to feel blessed today.

I think we can always learn from history. A reminder of core values never hurts but always helps.

Do you think it would benefit families to watch a few episodes of the Waltons given the economic times we are having?

time, and I don't think it was translated in french either. Do you?
