Right!. So he is an accomplished actor. and producer. Is that it?
To see George Clooney as an attractive and charismatic actor is to miss the wood for the trees. He is akin to an onion. There are layers upon layers to this man and I aim to separate the layers enough to see within.

In 2005, TV Guide marked Clooney #1 on its "50 Sexiest Stars of All Time" list and he was included in Time magazine's “100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2007, 2008, and 2009
GEORGE Clooney got married to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in September 2014. The private ceremony was in Venice and attended by many well known personalities coming from the acting world and beyond.
Clooney has reigned as Hollywood’s most-eligible bachelor for a long - and probably adventurous - time, but he is expected to keep tittle tattle about his marriage at bay. He has already stated that what he has said so far is enough information that he wants to share with the world.
In his biography on the internet the humanitarian work he has so often been involved in, is mentioned, but not given much space. Yet, during these last few years George Clooney’s name seems to pop up wherever there is an urgent humanitarian need that is reported on!
Time to peel off some layers. Maybe we had better start at the beginning.
More facets of George Clooney- The Man
George Timothy Clooney had won many battles, had excelled in many fields, yet he looked for more mountains to climb. It was not enough for him that he was by now rich and famous and considered a heart throb by many.
He had excelled in school, had done very well as an actor, had added to his skills by directing and producing movies. He has by all counts a very healthy bank balance.
I guess he felt his inherent worth would increase in his own estimation if he did what he could to help humanity in need.
He said in 2003 "You can't beat your enemy anymore through wars; instead you create an entire generation of people seeking revenge.” He prophesized that the world will see more car bombs, and suicide attacks if we do not do something different than just conventional wars.
He supported Barack Obama's campaign in the 2008 presidential election.
George Clooney Giving Back.
He is a supporter of gay rights. On March 2012, Clooney was featured with Martin Sheen and Brad Pitt in a performance of Dustin Lance Black's play, '8'. This was based on the federal trial about same sex marriage. Apart from showing it on stage, it was also broadcast on YouTube to raise money for the American Foundation for Equal Rights. George Clooney was active in supporting Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) GLSEN that works to create a safe space in schools for children of the LGBT community.
When the President of Sudan, Omar-al- Bashir failed to respond to the UN resolutions, George Clooney wrote an open letter to Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor and urged the EU to take concrete action.
He, like Brat Pitt, Matt Damon, Jerry Weintraub and others got involved with an organization that aims to stop and prevent mass atrocities. That organization is the Not On Our Watch Project
In 2009 he, along with columnist Nicholas D. Kristof [NY Times] he went to Goz Beida, Chad.
George Clooney spoke at a Save Darfur rally in 2006 and proposed a resolution of the Darfur conflict.
In 2008 he released a documentary that he and his father had made in Chad and Sudan for a TV Special and designated the proceeds be gifted to the International Rescue Committee. The documentary reflected the situation of Darfur’s refugees and proposed action.
He participated in Sand and Sorrow, the 2007 documentary about Darfur, and also in Darfur Now, which highlighted the need for the world to help end the Darfur crisis.
In December 2007 Clooney and actor Don Cheadle, received the Summit Peace Award in Rome and in January 2008 the UN announced his appointment as a UN Messenger of Peace.
In December, he went to negotiate with the governments of China and Egypt with Don Cheadle and two Olympic winners in a bid to put pressure on Sudan's government.
He said then that he felt that he had not accomplished his aim as the atrocities in Darfur had not stopped or even slowed down.
George Clooney conceived of, and participated in several projects with other human rights activists to assist the victims in Sudan and to expose the inhumanities that were occurring at the time.
He, along with Martin Luther King was arrested in March 2012 outside the Sudanese Embassy for civil disobedience.
It is an impressive listing of George Clooney the man, quite apart from his acting, directing, and dashing ways. There is more of how he has been involved in working for mankind on You Tube here.
Is this a forever marriage?
Amal Alamuddin seems to be an intelligent woman whose values and interest are similar to those that George holds. What are the chances that it will last for
Clooney has had many relationship, some long, some short, with beautiful women. Yet the media have cast doubt on his masculinity. The Advocate tried to quiz him on this, but he refused to admit or deny the allegations. His view was that it would make it seem like being gay is a bad thing and as such would be unfair and unkind to his friends in the gay community.
The first marriage recorded was to Talia Balsam and was from 1989 to 1993.
His latest marriage is to the British-Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin on April 28, 2014. Looks like a recipe for unity of purpose.
In May 2015 he held his own amongst a chunk of young men in the fashion industry Best Dressed Men at the 2015 Met Gala—George Clooney, Ansel Elgort & More!
His main home is in Los Angeles. It is a 683.2 m squared house he bought in 1995. He also has homes in Laglio, LakeComo in Italy and in Los Cabos, Mexico.
UPDATE 2015: Both George and Amal have strong family ties and deep convictions on life values. That does not stop the dirt-rags from coming up with amazing stories about them. According to Bobby Fischer, Amal is pitifully attempting to become a showpiece wife for George, was pregnant in December, before the wedding, after the wedding, and anorexic at other times. Yet after about 8 months of pregnancy the gender is a mystery! The evidence for this and the whiff of divorce? Amal is doing the unthinkable. Attending events with her new husband George!!
Yet Amal Alamuddin is obviously busy with her career and is currently representing Armenia on the Armenian Genocide, and has accepted a visiting professor job in ColumbiaLawSchool to lecture on human rights.
These past ten years she has been involved in the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon, representing the state of Cambodia. She has also worked with Julian Assange, the founder of Wiki leaks, and former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko. In 2014, she was chosen by the UN to investigate into the Gaza Strip conflict which she had declined.
What next for George Clooney?
They say he has met his match in Amal Alamuddin. It feels like he has teamed up with a kindred spirit. Will this be the stepping stone to yet another layer to George Clooney?
