Spoiler alerts are often only projections

Spoiler alerts are supposed to be leaked information that comes from set insiders. Unfortunately, many times those who write the spoilers project their own opinions and end up being wrong. When it comes to Soap Opera's, there is only one source that guarantees their news is straight from the source and that is Soaps She Knows at Soaps.com. For the Halloween episode on The Young and the Restless, SSN on sai that Kyle would experience a time warp and he did. Other spoilers gave details that did not manifest.

Soap Hub and Celeb Dirty Laundry teased that Jack's son would either ream or daydream about being married to Summer instead of Lola. Various characters including Kyle had dreams on October 31st, but Summer Newman was not even in that particular Y&R episode. This is why spoiler alerts must be taken with a grain of salt. During the Halloween episode, Kyle dreamed that Theo had taken over the Abbott mansion and was throwing a party. Summer was casually mentioned by Jack's new nephew when he suggested his cousin was not quite over his ex-wife.

Halloween in Genoa City was a disappointment

The Young and the Restless Halloween episode was teased as being something really great but in my opinion, it was a disappointment. Phyllis dreamed that she was invisible, as the Newman family disrespected her. She had gray hair and in another dream was the powerful CEO of Newman Enterprises. Sharon was her personal secretary and the Abbott men were reporting to her. In Kyle's dream, people were all over the Abbott mansion dancing and partying. Theo was in control and had Jack taken away to be evaluated for mental illness. Nick's nightmare was the best scene in this episode because he truly was in an alternate universe.

In this world, Victor's sons' had switched places and everyone loved Adam but loathed Nicholas. The entire family accused Nick of his sibling's murder but he insisted that it was all a dream. When he opened the casket to prove his brother was not in it, he was shocked to see Adam was really dead. Abby's weird dream was that she was a ditzy blonde and no one took her seriously. None of these scenarios were spooky, nor were they really funny. The best thing that can be said is that the costumes were pretty spectacular.

Spoiler alerts were correct in projecting that Genoa City residents would be in an alternate universe but the episode was silly and not very entertaining. The writers for The Young and the Restless could have done a lot better with the plots for this hour of time. Soap Hub said there would be Twilight Zone moments but the television series The Twilight Zone was always suspenseful and had twist endings. Rod Serling's programs were entertaining, engaging and suspenseful. Halloween on Y&R was not.

Summer and Kyle reunion sparks many rumors

One of the reasons there have been so many misses with spoiler alerts on The Young and the Restless is "Skyle." Phyllis and Jack's children have been growing closer as they have been working together at Jabot. At the same time, Theo has been pushing himself on Lola and trying to convince her he has reformed. Now that Theo might be Dina's grandson, a whole new dynamic is unfolding. "Kola" fans are distraught and want their favorite couple to be left alone. Spoilers, however, continue to report that Kyle and Summer will get back together. It was a natural assumption that on Halloween, Kyle would reminisce about his former wife, but he did not.

The Young and the Restless has been teasing viewers with subtle hints but nothing overt has taken place an thus far spoiler alerts have been wrong. There have even been rumors that Theo might seduce Lola but his intentions regarding the new Mrs. Abbott have not been made clear. The writers are keeping details relate to these four young folk under wraps. Should Kyle cheat with Summer or Theo seduce Lola, it may happen suddenly and without warning and without misguided spoiler alerts and rumors getting it wrong.

What viewers can take to the bank is that John Briddel has been hired to portray Theo's allegedly decease dad Eric Vanderway. If he has in fact passe away, he might be only in flashbacks Soaps She Knows indicates that the friendship between Lola and Theo will continue to rub Kyle the wrong way, so stay tuned. The Young and the Restless airs weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST.
