Things to go Bump, in the Night

Updated on December 9, 2012
Lives will go on
Lives will go on
Creation was meant to be permanent and ever changing
Creation was meant to be permanent and ever changing
The human race shall continue to thrive
The human race shall continue to thrive
there will be storms in our lives
there will be storms in our lives
there will be a morning sunup
there will be a morning sunup
there will be an evening's sunset
there will be an evening's sunset
there will continue to be a hustle and bustle in traffic.
there will continue to be a hustle and bustle in traffic.
small creatures will continue to survive
small creatures will continue to survive
the tides will continue to roll in and roll out.
the tides will continue to roll in and roll out.
all creatures will continue to thrive
all creatures will continue to thrive
flowers will bloom in Spring and welcome the bees
flowers will bloom in Spring and welcome the bees
I will keep on writing
I will keep on writing

Now comes those 2012 predictions, and the panic, somewhat manic, that they cause,

The lessons learned, all fly out the windows, not in regarding, them, its long list of flaws.

Nostradamus, that old sage, with strange abilities, in making predictions, now the rage,

Just how can he know what the future may be, and what is the measure and the gauge.

The Hopi Natives were wise beyond their years, and as futures to see, known to be seers,

Their methods, as it is told, shown in a celestial sky, and in a reputation, no one to deny.

The Indian People, of Asian shores, this aged and old culture, to foretell of all the years,

In China, and all of the Far Eastern Continent, a historical record, nothing at all to belie.

Revelations, of the Biblical scripture, to foresee the Rapture, first, then a Second Coming.

Followed by seven years of such a tribulation, for those non-believers, such a devastation.

Yet, no designated time, delegated as our own, an exact count of years, in their summing.

As Christians, to maintain, their scripture's, in persuasion, presented to all, in a strong ovation.

As a question to any, who may respond, just why are the Mayans to predict centuries beyond,

Recordings to display centuries ahead of our own, on great walls, and tablets made of stone?

Why are seer's predictions often vague, not distinct, so often of former times, and so succinct,

Could many be as a warning call, not the ending, of our own civilization, our demise, to be extinct?

There have even been rumors of a new planet to be seen, and with our own, soon to collide,

Yet, scientists maintain that no threat exists, and a warning sign, would earlier to be shown.

The old 2000's Y-2K , to have caused such a commotion, then later was proved, just a notion,

In truth and with all respect of cultures, past and present, an accurate prediction, is unknown.

The unscrupulousness, and the conniving acts to be done, by the unjust, in times like these,

Help to take advantage of human traits, as distractions, and as an aid, by their overreactions.

There's money to be made by panic-stricken folks, so now, they uncouthly do rob, with ease,

The wisest, now, not showing the effects, remaining calm, in the absence of required factions.

Come December of the following year, I feel very safe in my own prediction, to be made,

We all will be preparing for the Holidays, searching for that right and special Christmas tree,

Another of the strongest of all human kind's traits, an imaginative, and realistic approach, to

evade.

I have no doubts, not to worry, my friends, it is truly unknown, when our lives, shall end, or us, to be.

Great poem! As much as everyone wants to predict the future, only the Lord above knows for sure when it will all end. I, myself, will predict that my moments spent here will be filled with love, writing, and enjoying friends and family. Great job! I loved the photos you shared with your poem.
