Helen has been watching anime for almost 20 years! She is interested in a variety of genres and enjoys reading manga as well

1. Lovely★Complex

A Romantic comedy that will have you laughing every episode. but don't worry its also a very sweet anime about a very tall girl named Risa and a very short guy named Otani who eventually fall in love with each other despite their noticeable height difference.

This is a great anime if you want some laughs I honestly never get tired of rewatching it.

2. Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You

Kimi ni todoke Is about a girl named Sawako who is basically avoided by everyone in her school because of her awkward and scary appearance. She becomes known as Sadako but things starts to change for the better when she tries hard to change herself and when a certain refreshing popular guy named Kazehaya becomes interested in her.

I love this anime but honestly wished it followed the manga. the manga went further into their story than the anime did. I highly recommended you reading the manga if you love the anime.

3. Golden Time

This anime is about a university student named Tada Banri. Banri has amnesia and can't remember anything about himself and his past. Afraid that his past self isn't who HE is anymore becomes rather frightening to Banri and choses to escape to Tokyo and begin a new life at law school. But just as he is beginning to adjust to his new life, Kaga dramatically enters his life and shakes his whole world.

This anime was really funny I couldn't help but want to get a group of weirdo friends like the characters. I really want to say more but don't want to ruin anything for anybody haha.

4. A Lull in the Sea

Nagi no Asu Kara

the story of four middle school students Hikari Sakishima and Manaka Mukaido, along with their childhood friends Chisaki Hiradaira and Kaname Isaki are forced to leave the sea and attend a school on the surface. There, the group also meets Tsumugu Kihara, a kid who loves the sea but can't breathe underwater.

This anime is a new type of concept to me, there hasn't been any anime that I know of that involve humans who live in the sea with no fins (if there is one let me know). Its a cute story that makes you miss those days when you were young.

5. Toradora!

After an embarrassing mistake Ryuuji discovers that Taiga actually has a sweet side: she has a crush on Kitamura (his best friend) to ease Taigas embaressment Ryuuji confesses that he has a crush on Kushieda (Taiga's best friend). so they make a pact to help each other out.

This anime was really funny to me and I actually didn't expect it to be so sweet :)

6. Bokura ga Ita: We were there

Bokura ga ita

Anime starts off as the typical average girl hating the popular boy but then she falls in love with him and eventually they both start dating each eachother. Their relationship becomes rocky when Nanami constantly feels like their relationship is living in the shadow of Yano's previous relationship with ex girlfriend Nana. As Nanami and Yano struggle to keep their relationship strong. Misunderstandings and heartache test their love for each other.

I'm not gonna lie.. when I watched this anime my heart became invested in it. I was furious at the characters and I was sad because of the characters and I was happy because of the characters. It was rollercoaster of emotions watching this anime.

7. Mischievous Kiss

Itazura na Kiss

Kotoko Aihara is forced to share a roof with classmate Naoki Irie. To her horror this happens after she gives him her love letter despite the low chance of winning tries heart Kotoko remains optimistic that, because she now lives in his house, she has a chance in making him fall in love with her.

This was the first romance anime that I saw ever so it holds a big place in my heart.

8. Blue Spring

Ao Haru Ride

Futaba was really popular with the guys in middle school that the girls ignored her. not wanting to go through the same thing she did in middle school. She changes her true personality into a tomboyish and improper girl and avoids all unwanted attention. Things become more complicated when her first love from middle school gets transferred to her school. she soon discovers that she's not the only one whose changed.

As always I'm the type of girl who likes the books better than the movies and when it comes to anime I'm no different. I really enjoyed the manga version then the anime. and in all honesty I was rooting for the second guy instead haha

9. ReLife

The ReLIFE experiment follows Arata's struggles to adjust being a 17 year old again in his last year of High school who tries to avoid repeating his past mistakes.

I'm really glad I discovered this anime as an adult honestly since I saw what he saw in the kids in a way and I could sympatize on how we take our young years for granted. I really like this anime it was really nostalgic and sweet.

10. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou

Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo

After adopting too many stray cats, to his horror Sorata is assigned to the weirdo dorm. after meeting his indeed weird dorm mates he vows to find good homes for all the orphaned cats as soon possible so he can move back in to the regular dorms. when he meets Mashiro his life becomes even more hectic because Mashiro gets put into his care because she simply can't do anything but draw.

Great anime that makes me feel bad for the man character he really is just a norm with a bunch of weirdos lol.
