Top 10 Strongest, Most Powerful Dragon Ball Z Characters of All Time
The Strongest Dragon Ball Z Fighters of All Time: Including Villains!
Hello to all Dragon Ball Z Anime fans out there!
Today, and thanks to the constant need of comparing characters and thinking about hypothetical 1v1 situations, we bring you a list about the greatest DBZ Characters of all time. If you don’t know some of them, you may have skipped some episodes or a movie or two – but worry not, I’ll introduce every single character to you.
DragonBall may be mentioned by some as the father of all successful anime, but if we’re talking about sheer power then we must mention the characters themselves, as they are mostly some heavy-duty fighters that really can destroy planets on a whim and clash as titans in massively amazing battles.
As far as Dragon Ball goes, the DBZ Arcs really escalate the characters’ powers insanely, so by the end of the story we’re facing ridiculous amounts of power that may be hard to classify – but I’ll try and leave you with my list.

10 - Ultimate Gohan (Son Gohan Mystic)
Gohan is a character that gathers the love and hate of the audience. While some may argue that Gohan is the most complex character of the series and that he was originally meant to be the true hero, others claim he is a brat with no real power.
Despite what each fan may think individually, nobody can deny he deserves to be on this list thanks to his Ultimate or Mystic transformation.
Disregarding the fact that the movies Battle of Gods and DBZ: Wrath of the Dragon showed a somewhat weak Gohan, we can’t forget the Anime’s episodes when SSJ3 Gotenks (Super Saiyan 3) couldn’t beat Super Buu and even as Goku and Vegeta deemed the villain too dangerous to fight – Gohan obliterated Super Buu and showed his true colors.
If we consider characters with no fusion, Ultimate or Mystic Gohan is simply one of the strongest.
You’ll have to overcome the fact that this transformation doesn’t come with aesthetic changes on the eyes and hair, as he appears to be quite simply a normal Sayian.
9 - Hirudegarn (The Phantom Majin)
If you don’t know Hirudegarn, then you probably haven’t watched the movie Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, since this bad guy is the main antagonist in the movie.
He isn’t a very complex villain as he mostly just is a big tanky beast that really loves to destroy, and this is the item on my list where I expect a lot of fans will comment about since it is a bit ambiguous since a lot of things happened in a strange way in this movie.
First of all, I placed him in this place because he is able to beat Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Ultimate or Mystic Gohan with ease, which states his power levels to be really great, but the controversy happens when he is defeated by SSJ3 Goku, who shouldn’t be able to pull it off since Mystic Gohan and SSJ3 Gotenks got beaten so easily.
He also sent SSJ2 Vegeta packing and continued to steamroll up until his only weakness was found – and I won’t spoil the movie for you anymore.
A beast that is able to tackle these individual fighters heads on deserves a mention, so the number 8 goes to him.
I realize some of you may fall to the author to back the opinion that Super Janemba was stronger because he was able to beat SSJ 3 Goku, but the way Goku beats Hirudegarn is really strange as I mentioned earlier, so this one is a matter of opinion.
8 - Janemba (Janenpa)
Alright, so remember me talking about Janemba in the previous paragraph?
That is because I would really rate him a level behind Hirudegarn thanks to the strange defeat he had, but the author himself claims that Janemba is stronger, so who am I to doubt the mighty one’s words.
I will try to justify his position as well as I can though, for the sake of this list’s integrity.
To be fair, Janemba defeats two powerhouses – Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta and SSJ3 Goku – and he does so easily.
We can assume his power is greater than that of Kid Buu since SSJ3 Goku was fighting on a bit of a fair ground with him.
If you again don’t know this Dragon Ball Z character though, he is the main bad guy in the Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn movie and he incarnates evil, being a pure evil demon.
SSJ3 Goku is the character that defeats his first transformation, so Janemba powers up to his Super Form.
When he does this, he beats Vegeta and Goku to a pulp, and forces them to fuse to become Gogeta to stand a chance.
Gogeta then purifies all the evil of the demon and forces a transformation back to his Saike Demon form, which culminated on their victory.
7 - Krillin (Kuririn)
Okay, so I can hear you grumbling about this bogus list, and I agree it’s kind of a bogus item to include this here, but power levels aside I think Krillin really deserves this spot as he is clearly the most skilled fighter of the whole series.
I’m not talking about strength and power here, I’m talking about knowing Martial Arts, skills and dominating his own self and his own power.
Krillin is the only Terran, Earthling or whatever, to keep up with the villains and participate in battle after battle.
Yamcha started out stronger than Krillin, and look at how it ended up.
I can get the memes about Krillin constantly dying, but have you considered that he transcended his racial limits and that through skill and the dominion of his body and mind he is able to close the gap and offer valuable assistance time and time again?
I think you guys should really consider these arguments – Now continue reading your list.
6 - Super Buu (Absorbed Ultimate Gohan)
Majin Buu is a great villain, and you can really consider him the strongest DBZ villain if you want to discard the standalone movies.
We give him the number 6 on our list simply because he has a tremendous power, he can shred dimensional walls, and by the point we are referring him he already absorbed a good deal of people, including Ultimate Gohan who is the 10th position of our list.
Having said that, he only got beaten clearly by Vegito, the fusion between two really strong Saiyans you know, and he absorbed Gotenks as well as thrown SSJ3 Goku back to where he came from.
A real powerhouse for someone who used to be a big fat ball stuck in a jar.
5 - Super Saiyan God Goku (SSJ God: Goku God Mode)
SSJ God Goku is really the single most powerful unfused hero in Dragon Ball Z, and this includes all generations and races.
Goku really becomes the most powerful non-god specimen to have ever breathed on Earth.
I included the video above so you can see his first transformation, which is pretty Zen as we are accustomed to more spectacular shows like the time Goku first transformed into a Super Saiyan.
He tops everyone in this list below his position, yet he falls a bit short of the ones coming next.
Can you picture how Super Buu would look like if he managed to absorb him? This is a really entertaining thought to have, no doubt.
Dragon Ball Z Quiz: Answer me this!
Choose one Dragon Ball Power to Have:
4 - Gogeta (Gozita)
There is so little info about Gogeta that I am only comfortable in giving him this position because of the fact I know he is only a bit weaker than Vegito, which gets the next position.
Gogeta is the fusion result for two of the most powerful Super Saiyans of all time – Goku and Vegeta.
The author stated that the earring fusion stronger than the fusion dance result, so we know he sits below Vegito, but if you want to assign him to another position I can get why you do it.
There’s little information about him, but he really has a lot of potential.
3 - Vegito (Vegetto)
Again, the combined raw power of Vegeta and Goku is enough to send every scouter out there into explosion mode.
I really have to mention the fact that it was Vegeto that played around with Ultimate Buu, a guy who was on our list a couple of positions above, and he didn’t only surpass him – he really toyed around with him.
On the other hand, there’s not much info about him either, and there are some who state that SSJ God Goku is above him in power, which I disagree with – opinions are a bit “to each their own”,
2 - Beerus (Lord Bills)
The movie Battle of the Gods really sets the standard for powerful characters in the Dragon Ball Z world, and Beerus, the God of Destruction, really sets the bar high as far as raw power is concerned.
Beerus is extremely powerful, even mightier than all below this position, as God-like Ki surpasses mortal Ki in every way – no shame in not keeping up with these guys.
The first position may be a huge movie spoiler, so don’t read it if you haven’t seen the Battle of the Gods.
1 - Whis (Weiss)
Now, if you know and respect how Beerus is insanely powerful, consider the fact that Whis is Beerus’s Master and he is even stronger than him.
At the end of the “Battle of the Gods” movie you are told that Whis is Beerus’s Martial Arts sensei (master) and that he is the quickest being in the Universe.
I would gladly watch a fight with Whis on his full power, but who can oppose him? Perhaps a god we still don’t know.
