Electronic dance music (EDM) has been so popular since the early 2000s. So many music producers and DJ appear worldwide. Names like Paul van Dyk, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren are well-known EDM stars at their era. Since then, there has been a new prospect in the business and get their fame day by day. Until today there have been more than a thousand DJs in the world. They made music in the day, and play the music at night. Most of them gain money and fame, and some of them have been the best of the best, made themselves to the Grammy award and drag their songs to the Billboard charts. Let's find out some of the best names in the EDM industry and their achievements so far.

1. Martin Garrix

On 23 February 2018, Martin Garrix released his second collaboration with David Guetta and his third with Brooks with the song "Like I Do". Two days later, Garrix headlined the closing ceremony of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games at the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium in South Korea. Garrix was the closing act of the night performing his newly released single as well as many others.

On 15 June, Garrix released the single "Ocean", a collaboration with American R&B singer, Khalid. On 29 July, Garrix headlined the Tomorrowland Belgium 2018 music festival and released the single "High on Life", a collaboration with singer Bonn, immediately after his closing set ended. On 30 July, the music video for "High on Life" was released which contained footage from his Tomorrowland set.

Garrix was announced as a resident DJ at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel, performing on Thursdays from 5 July to 30 August. It was announced that he will be bringing guests to perform with him at the said venue. He was also scheduled to be the resident DJ at Hakkasan Nightclub, Omnia Nightclub, and Wet Republic Dayclub starting August 2018.

In October, Garrix was ranked number one on DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs list, winning for the third time in a row. His first win in 2016 made him the youngest DJ to top the poll. The awarding ceremony was held onstage at the Amsterdam ArenA during the 2018 Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) where Garrix headlined. On 1 November 2018, Garrix released the single "Dreamer" featuring American singer Mike Yung.

In January 2018, Marshmello officially released a collaboration with the late rapper, Lil Peep, titled "Spotlight". On February, Marshmello released a collaboration with British singer Anne-Marie named "Friends", as the fifth single from Anne-Marie's debut studio album, Speak Your Mind. On March, a collaboration with rapper Logic titled "Everyday" was released as the third single from his seventh mixtape, Bobby Tarantino II. On May 4, 2018, Marshmello released a collaborative single with American rapper Juicy J and British singer James Arthur titled "You Can Cry".

Marshmello announced on Twitter his second studio album titled Joytime II, a follow-up which was released on June 22, 2018. On June 7, 2018, he released the first single for the album titled "Tell Me". On June 15, he released the second single for the album titled "Check This Out". On August, he released a collaboration with British indie pop band, Bastille titled "Happier" which peak #3 in billboard top 100. Marsmello was also ranked #10 on DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs list on October.

3. David Guetta

On February 2018, David Guetta released his new song "Mad Love", together with Sean Paul and Becky G. A few months before the release Sean Paul reported that Shakira would be the singer of the song, but she has been replaced by Becky G. A week later, Guetta released his second collaboration with Martin Garrix and Dutch DJ Brooks entitled "Like I Do". Guetta's seventh collaboration with Sia, "Flames", was released a month later.

On August, Guetta confirmed the album's title as 7 and revealed its track list, including the singles "2U", "Like I Do", "Flames" and "Don't Leave Me Alone". The album will also feature a collaboration with Bebe Rexha and J Balvin titled "Say My Name", a song featuring Jess Glynne and Stefflon Don titled "She Knows How to Love Me", a collaboration with Jason Derulo titled "Goodbye" featuring Nicki Minaj and Willy William, another collaboration with Sia titled "Light Headed", and a collaboration with Moroccan Canadian singer-songwriter Faouzia called "Battle". David Guetta named as #5 on DJ Mag top 100 lists on October.

4. Swedish House Mafia

On March 2018, Swedish House Mafia was confirmed to be playing at Ultra Miami 2018 with the announcement being made by the German edition of DJ Mag only 24 hours before the performance. 2018 marked the festival's 20th anniversary and five years since the group split up at Ultra Miami 2013, marking the conclusion of the group's One Last Tour. Billboard described it as one of Miami's historical musical experiences.

During an Axwell Λ Ingrosso show held in New York on May 27, 2018, the duo teased an upcoming Swedish House Mafia tour for 2019. This was later confirmed by Steve Angello in an interview with Sydsvenskan.

On August, Angello confirmed that the trio is working on new music during an interview with Swedish news publication Dagens Nyheter. The same month also saw Axwell Λ Ingrosso go on hiatus in order to focus on the Swedish House Mafia reunion. Angello also confirmed a show in Mexico for the 2019 tour plus stating that Swedish House Mafia would play Tomorrowland 2019 "by any means necessary".

On October, Swedish House Mafia re-entered the DJ Mag top 100 DJs chart, achieving place number 63. The same day they announced that shows in Stockholm would occur as part of their 2019 tour. On October 22, after teasing an announcement on their website, Swedish House Mafia confirmed that their Stockholm show would occur on May 4, 2019, at the Tele2 Arena. The succeeding week saw two more dates, May 3 and 2, added due to high demand for the show.

On November, through a Twitter post and after several teaser billboards located around Mexico City were seen throughout the week, Swedish House Mafia confirmed their Mexico show to happen on May 18, 2019, at Mexico City's Foro Sol. This will be the second confirmed stop for their upcoming tour.

5. The Chainsmokers

In the early of 2018, The Chainsmokers released their first single, since the release of Memories... Do Not Open, entitled "Sick Boy". A month later, a new single, "You Owe Me", was released on February. The same month Billboard named The Chainsmokers as number one on their 2018 ranking of dance musicians titled Billboard Dance 100.

On April, The Chainsmokers released the fourth single of their monthly releases, which are building up to their second studio album, entitled "Somebody".

On July, a collaboration between the duo and American rapper Juice Wrld, titled "In My Head", was leaked online. On July 27, the duo released their fifth single of the year featuring longtime collaborator Emily Warren entitled "Side Effects".They released the single "Siren", a collaboration with Parisian producer Aazar, on October 26. At the end of the month, they were named as the world's #2 highest-paid DJ by Forbes.

On November, it was announced that The Chainsmokers is scheduled to perform during Victoria’s Secret fashion show which will be recorded in New York City in November, and will be telecasted on December 2 by the ABC network. On the same month, they released "Beach House" as a single. The duo has launched a film production company named Kick the Habit Productions, with their manager Adam Alpert serving as CEO and Dan Marcus, a former digital media agent, as a COO and president.

In June 2017, British singer Rita Ora debuted a semi-acoustic version of "Lonely Together" at a private event at Annabel's in London. "Lonely Together" was later the second single from Avīci (01). From 13 July to 2 August, Avicii shared one-minute snippets on Instagram, captioned "New music coming very very (very) soon!", with track titles as hashtags. Avicii uploaded teasers of each track from the EP online upon release.

On August 2017, Bergling released the six-track EP Avīci (01). Avicii said of the release: "I'm really excited to be back with music once again. It has been a long time since I released anything and a long time since I was this excited over new music! My focus on this first EP of the album was to get a mix of new and old songs: some that fans have been asking about and waiting for mixed with brand new songs that they haven't heard before!"

In an interview with Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Bergling stated that the EP is one of three parts of his third studio album. On 11 September 2017, Avicii announced a documentary entitled Avicii: True Stories. The documentary chronicles the artist's retirement from touring and features interviews from his colleagues David Guetta, Tiësto, Wyclef Jean, Nile Rodgers and Chris Martin of Coldplay.

Following Avicii's death, news outlets reported that at the time of his death, he had over 200 unreleased songs, some finished and others still in development.It was further stated that he had produced some of the best songs in his career before his passing. Avicii's management has yet to announce a release for his unreleased music.

7. Hardwell

On January, Hardwell announced that the third volume of his Hardwell and Friends EP would be released soon, with a new track coming out every day as of 19 January. The next day, Hardwell premiered the EP in the 350th episode of "Hardwell On Air". On 22 January 2018, he released "The Underground", a collaboration with Timmy Trumpet. The track was first premiered at Ultra Europe 2017. On 24 January 2018, he released "Get Low", a collaboration with Sick Individuals. The track was also first premiered at Ultra Europe 2017.

With the final release of "Take Us Down (Feeding Our Hunger)" with Dr. Phunk, the full EP was made available on 26 January.

Hardwell released "Anthem" with American DJ Steve Aoki on April, which was the fourth release in Aoki's 5OKI artist collaboration campaign.

Hardwell later released a track titled "Thunder" with Julian Calor under the name Magnomite on 23 April on Revealed Recordings. It was Hardwell's first release under an alias.

Hardwell announced on his Twitter account on 24 April that he has launched a new electronic pop sub-label titled "Gemstone Records", whose main goal is to promote new talent and reach a larger audience while encompassing multiple genres such as deep house, future house, future bass, and electro-pop.

On May, Hardwell released "Earthquake". The track features vocals from Harrison and was first premiered in the 350th episode of Hardwell on Air. On 25 May 2018, he collaborated with Netherlands-based jazz and pop orchestra Metropole Orkest to release an episodic two-part EP titled "Conquerors".

Later, Hardwell collaborated with Dutch producers Blasterjaxx to release "Bigroom Never Dies" on 13 July, which was notably teased during his live performance on Dutch radio station Slam. The song incorporates elements of multiple genres other than its prevalent big room sound, including hardstyle, house, and techno. He collaborated with Kaaze again on "This Is Love", which was released on 31 August and featured vocals from Loren Allred who has previously performed on The Voice.

In February 2018, Aoki announced the release of his five-track EP titled 5OKI, the follow up to his 2016 EP 4OKI. The EP would feature him collaborating with other producers to produce a "cross-genre" track collective. "I’m really putting an emphasis on EDM and I’m putting an emphasis on cross-genre collaboration. For EDM itself I’m making a big statement of re-claiming it as something [that’s] really important to me – kinda like giving back to my community," stated Aoki prior to the EP's release. The tracks were released at a weekly interval over five weeks from 23 March to 20 April, with "Mayhem" featuring Quintino releasing on 23 March 2018,followed by "Pika Pika" with Loopers, "It's Time" with Laidback Luke, "Anthem" with Hardwell, and concluding with "Moshi Moshi" with Vini Vici.

On May 18, 2018, Aoki released new single "Pretender" featuring AJR and rapper Lil Yachty. In June 2018, Aoki remixed Rita Ora's hit single "Girls" featuring Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha, and Cardi B. Later that month, alongside Italian DJ Marnik, they released their version of "Bella Ciao", which garnered controversy. The new dance music version of the track was deemed inappropriate and insulting by many. On July 20, 2018, Aoki released new single "Lie To Me" featuring singer-songwriter Ira Wroldsen.

On August 6, 2018, in an interview, he announced the release of new album "Neon Future III". It will include collaborations with Ira Wroldsen, Nicki Minaj, Maluma, Blink-182, and BTS.

On October 25, 2018, Aoki released "Waste It On Me" which features BTS members, RM and Jungkook. The single, which was also included in Aoki's album, Neon Future III, marked Aoki and BTS' third collaboration as well as BTS' first all-English single.
