Got chocolate? This list guarantees to please any chocoholic music lover. Rich, smooth and velvety, and it melts in your ears not in your hands.

I don't know anyone who doesn't love chocolate or music. And both just happen to be favorites of mine, so I figured I would combine the two for an extra special treat.

Did you even know there were 100 songs about chocolate in existence? I didn't until I started searching. Granted, a few of these flew off the top of my head right away, such as; The 1975's hit, as well as "Chocolate" by Snow Patrol, "Sunshine & Chocolate" by Semisonic, "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate, and "Death by Chocolate" by Sia.

But for the full list, read on to see how many of these you knew (or didn't know).

Article History and Copyright Infringement Info

I wrote this article originally for Yahoo Contributor Network, back in 2012 (October), and since they have been shut down, my articles have been orphaned and looking for forever homes. LOL.

While researching the title I dredged up quite a few different people who have used my articles in full without even giving me credit. Sadly, this is not an uncommon practice on the net. People steal others' work all the time. And most of it is done blatantly. I have left comments and tried to get a hold of the offenders to make them remove my work from their sites and blogs. Ha ha. It just seems so wrong, but there's nothing that can be done except fill out longs forms from google that will probably never be dealt with before my dying day.

(If anyone is interested, here is the link to google to report someone for copyright infringement:

So, no dwelling here; onwards and upwards....

I'm still putting my work out there and hoping for the best.

The 1975's Chocolate

Top 100 songs about chocolate! Plus a free playlist

1-50 (Songs One through Fifty) from my Got Chocolate playlist:

The 1975 – Chocolate.

Love this alt/indy rock/pop hit The 1975 wrote in 2013 but released April 2014. It didn't really hit the charts until summer of 2014, and I think it's still one of their best. It received a Nomination for UK Festival Award for Anthem Of The Summer. The singer has quite a Manchester accent and some have a hard time discerning the lyrics. He's basically singing about fleeing the police in his car with a stash of weed. (Chocolate is their euphemism for marijuana.) .See Lyrics here: The 1975 'Chocolate' - What Are they Actually Saying?

Snow Patrol – Chocolate

The third single from their third album Final Straw released in 2003, this UK indy rock band is one of my all time faves. The sincerity of Gary Lightbody's voice gives this song a weight it might not have carried with many other singers. I think the song is about infidelity, but you can make your own judgements. In any case, it's still a lovely song.

Semisonic – Sunshine And Chocolate

From their All About Chemistry album released in 2001 this sexy song brings back memories of kissing under the bleachers in school. It seems he's found love, then fell asleep, and she took off but left him a note, and he's lost her forever, but what I could never understand is how he fell asleep in the first place.LOL. Still a great song.

Sia – Death By Chocolate

From her album Some People Have Real Problems released in 2008, Sia gives advice on how to get over a broken heart. Sia is one of the greatest songwriters of our age. She's written songs for so many artists, and had many hits that just keep on coming.

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Cast your vote for chocolate peanut butter cups

Cook Time/Freeze Time

Prep time: 15 min
Cook time: 20 min
Ready in: 35 min
Yields: makes approx. six chocolate peanut butter cups

  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped (or chips)
  • 3 TBL. peanut butter
  • 3 TBL powdered sugar
  • 1 TBL coconut oil

  1. Make sure you have glass measuring cups for this recipe. I use 2 - one cup pyrex measuring cups. As well as silicone cupcake liners. Paper liners don't work as well for this recipe, but I've used them in a pinch as long as you have a muffin tin to put them in. The silicone liners can stand up on their own and don't need a muffin tin to give them shape.
  2. Ok. So gather all ingredients. If you don't like dark chocolate, you can use milk chocolate or any kind you like, but for this recipe, I think dark chocolate works best.
  3. Add chocolate to pyrex cup with coconut oil and melt in microwave for about 30 seconds in short bursts so chocolate does not burn. Just get the chips slightly melted and stir to incorporate the coconut oil that gives the chocolate a nice shine.
  4. Pour a small amount of the melted chocolate into each of the cups to line the sides and bottom. Not too thick, but enough to coat bottom and sides. You don't need to get all the way up the sides, just a little so the bottom will adhere to the top pour later. Put them in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes to harden.
  5. Meanwhile, in the other glass measuring cup, add the peanut butter and powdered sugar and stir well to incorporate. You can also add chopped nuts if you like, or you can use crunchy peanut butter for more texture. I also like to add a bit of sea salt to the top for even better flavor.
  6. Add approximately one tablespoon of your peanut butter mixture to each chocolate cup. Slightly press mixture in cup to even out.
  7. Top with more melted chocolate, and freeze to set for about 15-30 min. Top with sea salt for more flavor. You can also use dulce de leche (caramel) and other nuts like pecans inside these delectable desserts for homemade turtles.
