A nice little list with something to say about each singer. A lot of popular ones.

I wonder about what you think about Kate Bush; Karla Bonoff, Marianne Faithful and Tori Amos.

Joni Mitchell? Bjork? Natasha Kahn (Bat for Lashes).....

good write up and nice little titles for each.

I agree with your list. Whitney Houston was awesome, but there is another female artists who wrote: "I Will Always Love you," the song she recorded, which has contributed a lot to females in music: Ms. Dolly Parton. Who can forget: "Working 9 to five?" Dolly is credited for doing a lot of music that reached all people, and still is a living legend. I remember watching a movie she did with Whoopi Goldberg where they sang with a choir. Beautiful.

Don't forget Cher, too. These females helped pave the way for modern female artists. I remember reading Cher said people thought she would crumble after her divorce from Sunny, and she went on to write songs which reached everybody. A few years ago, she toured with Tina Turner, a concert I wish I could have seen.

Nevertheless, I loved your list. Very thoughtful and filled with good information.
