Top 5 Dubstep Remixes of 2013

Updated on January 6, 2014

Top Dubstep Remixes of 2013

Soo It's a new year and that means another year for music to evolve. Dubstep. A massively growing genre seems to take advantage of this the most out of all the EDM genres. Most of the time you'll always be able to find some kind of a Dubstep remix to your favourite track. Some better than others. I'm here to give you the best ones I've found from 2013 already.

I'm going to be covering dubstep remixes of popular tracks and tracks made within this year and the end of last year.

Hold on, some of these drops are huge.

5. Feat Ft. Britney Spears - Scream & Shout (Spag Heddy Dubstep Remix)

This remix started a little bit cliché for me at first, It felt like it I was listening to a sped up version of the song with dubstep drums over the top. To be fair most dubstep remixes are based around this but some feel a little more amateur than others. I figured I'd leave it to the drop to see what happened.

And then my perspective of the track change. The dubstep drop is very heavy with little a funky little riff, good change in sounds and a beat that will make you bump up and down.

I'm not a fan of the original but this is well worth checking.

4. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble (PRFFTT & Svyable Remix)

Well I know I was in trouble when I listened to this track. Surprised me. Now I know the original has a kind of dubstep feel to it already. And believe me, I hate the fact dubstep drops can sound good in mainstream music. But this guys remix takes advantage of the fact it has a dubstep style drop.

Thicker drums, Added ambience and a decent build up.
Now its not the best dubstep drop but I feel this works well. Don't believe me? take a listen.

3. The Wanted - Chasing The Sun (Chimeric Dubstep Remix)

I'm not exactly a wanted fan, but they do come up with catchy music. Well most mainstream music does. The reasons why it's mainstream in my opinion. But this makes the song so much more jumpier and and the drums in this track are just heavy.

Take a listen.

2. Avicii vs Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One (ABDUKT Dubstep Remix)

The original of this sound is absolutely amazing on its own and I see it being the next club banger but this Dubstep remix gives a heavy half step feel that works very well. Very heavy synths and big sounds in this mix.

Well deserved 2nd place in my list of best Dubstep remix's of 2013.

1. Drinking From The Bottle (Dubstep Remix) - Calvin Harris (Feat. Tinie Tempah)

Wow. Well this track has it all. Nice intro. Nice built up with using the original sounds and different drops on each end. On the second drop there is a real heavy part where the kick comes on every beat and it really help the track work. The original track is amazing but this really did it for me.

The sounds in this track are well put together and I feel this is what everyone wants out of a dubstep remix.

Well worth the number 1 spot!

What do you think of these remixes? are they what you would have chosen? Leave your response in the comments below but please don't spam telling people to check out your stuff.

Honest opinion and discussion only.

Until next time. Enjoy. And keep listening to EDM Music

I feel like Assertive's Clarity (Zedd. ft. Foxes) should've made it on the list.
