Top Ten Musical Themes I have Ever Heard
Music is a gift to mankind from god. Soothing to the years, music connects directly to the inner soul. It can bring out any emotion; happiness, joy, grief, love, passion, absolutely anything. To music is something which helps me think about various areas of my life, it helps me get my thinking juices running. Over the years I have listened to thousands of tracks but a few have made a great a deal of impact on my mind in terms of the emotions they generate, of the atmosphere they create! Here the ten tracks i can listen to umpteen times anywhere and anytime.
1. The Sicilian Pastorale
The slow rising music of the Sicilian Pastorale helps me ponder over matters important to me. It helps me think. It helps me read the difference between what is right and what is wrong. The beautiful piece by Nino Rota is a part of the soundtrack of the legendary movie, The Godfather, 1972.
2. The Godfather Waltz
The blowing trumpet of the Godfather Waltz is a watermark of the movie itself. The score generates an emotion no vocal can and it leaves me thinking about the hardships this world can give, about all the difficult choices one has to make for his loved ones, how some die heroes and some die villains.
It shows to me the utter truth of life that all of us have to die alone some day and it is worthless to fear death.
3. The Godfather Love Theme
The Love theme of the godfather by Nino Rota is the best love sequence ever made and captured. It arouses my emotions into a sweet passionate smile of love and makes my eyes moist.
4. Rocky- Gonna Fly Now
The best motivational soundtrack I have heard till date. Composed by Bill Conti with slight vocals by Deettla Little and Nelson Pigford, the rising music trumpets evoke a motivational and determined spirit inside me and nothing seems impossible.
When I listened the track for the first time seeing Sly Stallone pump iron I had goosebumps over body. From then it has been the best motivational track for me
Brad Fiedel
5. The Terminator
I have never heard such classic combination of beats ever. Brad Fiedel and his Terminator theme is another of my motivational favorites. It sets the blood gushing through my veins and helps me prepare myself for something big.
In terminator 2, when the movie ends we see the ongoing road and music begins with an upbeat. It brings an emotion in my mind, that the only dilemma in a man's life is that all throughout his life he sticks with his path, his best friend.. but ultimately in the end when he reaches his destination the road will end and so will the friendship!
Ennio Morricone
6. The good The Bad and The Ugly
Think of American cowboys and this theme I bet will be the first on your mind. My father showed me the movie on my brink of teenage and since then the track, the whistle, the guitar and everything about it is etched on my mind!
It brings into my mind a culture of men, rough, rugged, striving in the most dire of conditions and never quitting.
Hats off! to Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai i for such a track!
Bruno Nicolai
John Williams
7. Superman Theme
My favorite superhero of all time and my favorite superhero track of all time. The track attached itself to the character as a name to a man. It became his identity.
The rising flow of music infuses a sense of hope that anything bad will now be over, the storms will now end and happiness will prevail. John Williams gave life to this track and created a masterpiece to his name.
Hans Zimmer
8. Why So Serious- The Dark Knight
I regard Hans Zimmer as a pillar of modern music. His compositions are enthralling and no matter in what mood you are, they will attract you like a drug. The favorite Hanz Zimmer track of mine is Why So Serious from the dark Knight.
The Fluctuations he uses are mind- boggling and flawless. They give me goosebumps. No one could have done more justice to the music of the film other than him. The track gives way to a thrill and chill down the spine and I get stuck in the upbeat and the instantly following downbeat as if a miracle has taken place.
James Horner
9. Every Night In My Dreams- Titanic OST
The Song has given me the most goosebumps in my life. Every time I hear it I get goosebumps. Flawless music by James Horner and utter emotion in the vocals by Celine Dion create a feat of love which is irrevocably the best love song of the millennium.
There would be no such lovers in the world who would not have danced or made love to this song. This song arouses emotions, passion, love of invincible amounts and clearly is one of my evergreen favorites.
Celine Dion
Larry Mullen
10. Mission Impossible Theme
This soundtrack is my answer to funk! It came when the time was right and became a hit. MI was the first movie I saw in the theaters and since then as a child this theme brings an adrenaline rush to my body.
This theme brings fire when I need it. The beats, the music all are simply simply awesome!!
Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton did a terrific job of imagination and gave us an evergreen classic!!
